1935 Hupmobile, not mine.

Recommended Posts

I'm guessing it's overpriced in its current condition (let's hear it, Hupp experts!), but what a stylish car.

When I was growing up in San Jose, CA, there were two of these parked side by side in a vacant lot on San Carlos St.

I always wondered what had happened to them-probably the crusher.

Haha -- I had to look up "Holes Flat" because I couldn't believe that was the name of the place.  It's not.  It's a typo -- should be "Holmes Flat."  Either way, it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere.  A very stylish car, but an ambitious project, for sure.

The 1934-'36 Hupmobile Aerodynamics were the second design contract Raymond Loewy created for the maker after the 'cycle-fender' 1932-'34 models.  This 1935 is likely the Model 518-D, the most numerous model they built that year.   Hope it finds someone to properly restore it.

Per the seller, "All original, only two owners. 65,261 miles ... on original tires."

Wow...90 year old tires with over 65k miles. I wonder what brand they are and where i can buy a few sets.
