Other than the color, what don't you like about this car?

The drive train combination is perfect for my likes. The color is my only big complaint. If I was driving this car I don't think I could deal with the comments about that. Could see my wife liking it though.

I might be a situation where the color in person doesn't look anything like it does online. I hope so. If you could talk the owner into lowering is price it would help also. These old Chrysler products don't seem to be in big demand and his asking price doesn't reflect that. These are nice driving cars but they aren't a Buick.

The whitewall tires and wheel trim looks out of place on this car. I'm not a fan of the visor on the cars of this period. Some of the photos are very poor making it hard to determine the actual condition.

The paint's rough to look at, but at least whoever painted it had the good sense (or laziness) not to paint the dash and garnishes as well.

Interior looks OK, and I like the body style.

I wouldn't feel as though I was doing the car any indignity by getting it painted at Maaco and just running it.

Maybe start at $6K, and deduct $1K for the Maaco visit?

Can you still get a Maaco job for $1,000?

In the dim past I got a few low cost paint jobs where I did all prep before taking it to in and they did well.

Use to be, they had some old guys who could really lay down enamel.

Those Earl Scheib $49.95 paint jobs are a thing of the past. The car looks more blue to me than purple. I think it would look nice in a deep burgundy. See the Oldsmobile below. The interior is clean, but for sure, his asking price is off the wall. I'd say $6K.

I got my 2004 Titan done at Maaco, repaint of the factory color, for $1K in 2015. They did all the prep, and it turned out pretty good. No doubt paint's gone up, but there's a lot more square footage on a Titan than this car. It looks like the fender welting already got painted over.

Agree burgundy would be a good color. I guess what's on there might be called royal blue?
