I have a 1926 Model T Coupe with wire rims. Is there a source for tires around $100.

Each or set of four😀.  You never know with these Model T guys.  For reference I just ordered two tires for my wheelchair 26” x 1 3/8” that use an inner tube.  $20ea with a 4 to 5 week wait.

Not really.

These are your choices as far as I know. The first 3 are likely to have tires coming from the same sources. The last one is in the UK, impeccable quality I'm told. Not inexpensive. Unfortunately collector car tires have been a problem to get at any price lately, and none of them have been affordable in recent memory even when they were typically in stock. I hate to be a downer about this but you probably need to take anything you can get. For what it's worth it is sometimes possible to get Coker products with free shipping by buying them from Jegs or Summit Racing. It's not always true but worth looking. **ALWAYS CALL AND CHECK STOCK**. You could get queued for literally years for a production run that hasn't even been scheduled yet.

I admit I didn't check current pricing, mainly because you didn't say what size. I am guessing your wires are the bolt-on Ford ones (21"), but you could have Buffalos (30x3-1/2") or something else. If you have 21", it might be worth checking with the Model A suppliers too.

A 1926 model T wire wheel uses the same 21 inch tire as a 1928/'29 model A Ford. The quantity of those is high enough that they aren't nearly as expensive as the clincher tires for model Ts are.

Most collector car tire dealers should be reasonable. However, and I have never done business with them myself so cannot say with any authority whether or not they are okay, I hear that Summit Racing usually has the best price with shipping included.

I bought a set of tires and tubes for my '38 Century from Lucas last year.  They contacted me right away when my first choice was unavailable and I chose a different (but similar) tire.  Good customer service and tires arrived as promised.  I have no complaints.

I know Mr. Moss is a first time poster asking a question and advice. But it seems that a lot of people who do ask any questions never ever give any of us who they want correct valid answers from enough information to do so. Why is that?

They think we already know everything?  Or are telepathic.

I bought tires for my 1928 Pontiac from Jegs. They are a Coker product but I was able to get free shipping and I used a $50 coupon. That said, I was annoyed with them because they were backordered and didn't tell me for over a week, but charged my card immediately. It was about three months they had my money before I had my tires.

I have not read the article yet, but Propublica generally does a great job.

Relevant to cost of tires, availability and our current economic issues.
