About 2600 actually, according to a poster White Post Restorations used to distribute….they had to cease as there was a copyright issue, I believe…

I think the book CT Created cars, compiled about 15 years ago by Paul Pellerin, lists about 150, by town, then marque.  Some info is really sparse but still intetesting reading.

I don't remember forgetting any of them.

Pullman, Hanover, Sphinx, Kline, Bell, Atlas, Hart-Kraft and several others.  All built in York, PA.

Last time I looked at that information, it seemed like there were over 250 individuals that made more than one car.  Only the manufacturers, those that made most of the parts including the powertrain, engine, transmission, rear axle survived for some time.

 

The rest who were assemblers of purchased parts could not compete on price or quality and went out of business.
