With thousands if not more of these Delco Remy 6 cylinder distributors having been made you would think that a few of these tools must be around.  Not so.  I can't even find mention of one on the internet.  Please, someone surprise me.783742527_distributorsetuptool.jpeg.5f5bb3543ebc272c68345d626307e2c7.jpeg

Why bother. Put it on the Sun distributor tester. It’s more accurate and you can test it while it’s operating. You can also check the centrifugal Advance at the same time.

…..and many other applications

The cap (824987) was used on many different distributor types (not only on series 650, 656 and 659 distributors). I counted four different top lids used on 824987 (for different firing orders, cw and ccw rotation).

It would seem most if not all of those Delco synchronizing tools are scarce. I searched for years for one and finally found one but unfortunately it wouldn't work on my distributor. I eventually sold it to a Marmon owner. You will have better luck finding a Weidenhoff, Winn or similar point synchronizing tool.

In the meantime you can adjust them fairly accurately by fabricating a crude gauge with a protractor. paper clip and old rotor.

Hey edinmass, yeah, I've got one of those in my garage.....and if it's broke I know another 10 people who own one......😁  Only kidding, please do not take offense.

Send it to me, and I will set it up for free.
