Doug Ruth
What are the two pedals just in front of the driver seat used for? Our basket case 1918 Buick does not have these. -doug ruth
Grimy
As commented in another thread, the consensus is that the front pedal operates an exhaust cutout, and the rear pedal operates a Bermuda bell. Both are owner-added.
27donb
By my count, if things get dicey during the parade, you need 4 feet to operate all those pedals! 🤪😅

Morgan Wright
I have the pedal for the exhaust cutout, but it doesn't do anything. I got it unstuck, but....nothing

DonMicheletti
The exhaust cutout is original. To operate, you push down to open and then back to lock it open. Unnecessary noise in my opinion

Morgan Wright
I read somewhere that various states started making them illegal in the early 1920s
Marty Roth
Of course the intended advantage was to bypass the restrictive nature of the muffler, reducing backpressure, and increasing engine power output- (or at least it sounded that way), The Bermuda Bell probably added as much speed as did the exhaust cutout ??
