Hudsy Wudsy
It's a pretty sort of dark grey, but I can't quite get a handle on the other color. Is it a somewhat tanish off-white?

Is it a somewhat tanish off-white? Probably Reefshell Pink, a very light shade. Does that say PONAIAC on the hood?

I'm sure that you're right. Pink and gray was a fashionable combination in the fifties. I think that maybe it's time that I check the color accuracy of my monitor...or maybe my 73 year old eyes! Kinda hard for me to tell, but I would not be surprised. There was an article in Smoke Signals (POCI Pub.) about just those kinds of details that were factory defects for one reason or another. IF this car is original as stated and that is the case, that much cooler.
The 55er
I'm thinking the original letter A was lost or broken somewhere along the line and a replacement wasn't on hand at the time the car was restored. I believe the 58 BONNEVILLE hood letters are reproduced but not the PONTIAC letters. 1958 letters are a one year only thing but certainly with all the 1958 Pontiacs the that were produced there's a letter A out there somewhere with unbroken pins even if it would need to be rechromed. It was overlooked for the time being and it will be the responsibilty of the next owner of this gorgeous wagon to find one. Edited September 26, 2022 by The 55er Added a word. Laura S
Yes my Pontiac chieftain convertible has the same colors. Ascot gray and Reefshell pink . Great color combo.

The Bonneville has that written out on the convertible trunk but on the Chieftain convertible it says PONTIAC on the trunk . The letters on a 58 chieftain convertible trunk ONLY fit that car because of the rounded trunk from the Bonneville. Crazy isn’t it

Ths 58 Bonneville models used wider taillights too and the Pontiac cars of that year used four different trunklids.
