plymouthcranbrook
Well I owned both a 61 and a 66 Alpine in my misspent youth and can tell you that they can be fun in their own way but that I would never pay what the market is asking for one today.
Boobtube
Buick35, It's the wrong body style for a Tiger and you'd have to modify the whole front suspension to convert and Alpine to Tiger. Not worth it.
Fossil
If I remember correctly the transmission tunnel has to be enlarged also. The Tiger I drove had very little room for the pedals. Seemed like my feet were banging into each other.
40Clubcoupe
I'm not criticizing nor endorsing, just making comments. It is the Series I Alpine, which is somewhat scarce on the ground now. The Alpine became much more popular with the Series II onward and more of those have survived. It is not a Rootes color, although somewhat similar to their seacrest green, which looks very nice on that car. Fake wire wheel covers..the originals were real wires or steel wheels with nice round holes. Steering wheel column plastic is coming apart and that will probably get worse later. The rear plastic window is virtually unusable due to crazing, but fortunately I think they are still available. They have nice clean lines that first attracted me way back in high school. 1912Staver
I also had a couple of Series 1 cars. Good looking , but nothing special to drive. I liked the MGB that came next quite a bit more. A Tiger style conversion is always possible , but quite a bit of work, expense. And a converted car will never be as desirable as a real Tiger. Big difference at the front is rack and pinion rather than the Alpines worm and peg steering. This price seems quite optimistic.
