I think it will get driven if I can get this knocked out. LeSabre- Just need to sort out the fuel delivery. Starts and runs fine but then fuel chokes off. Plus the tank is dripping a little and whatever is coating it is getting liquified by the gas, dripping tar like substance. GS400 Convertible - a rear one, 3-speed manual, (1/79) No power steering or brakes, Turquoise with white top and interior. GS400 Coupe - a 4-speed black/black/black - have had for 14 years now. EmTee
Huh, is that a toploader? I presume it's original to the car. My '64 GP was ordered with the 'heavy-duty' 3-speed, which was also a Ford transmission.
Ted "Wildcat65" Nagel
Yes, the "Dearborn" was used in 65-69 for the Heavy Duty 3-speed applications. So it was standard in the GS400. The GS 350 standard transmission was a 3-speed column shift Saginaw. The HD was available in the GS 350 as an option. The Full Size column shifters cars also got this Dearborn unit in 67 - 70. Not that I've seen them, I am just going by the chassis manuals. Pete Phillips has a 70 Wildcat with the Dearborn 3-speed- the A bodiy GS went to a Muncie 3-speed that year. 1

Frame is now at the dipper. Other parts at the blaster. I've got interior parts from Legendary. I need to work on the engine and transmission!

Ted "Wildcat65" Nagel
Greetings Buick People. Lots of work getting done but this feels like a milestone worthy of sharing- the engine is done! GS400 convertible Frame is getting picked up this weekend. That needs to be painted , then assembly. Quarters are just about ready for some color but a lot of the other bits need to be fixed and prepped before that- hood and fenders in particular are a ways away. Wildcat engine is at machine shop now. 68 LeSabre - gas lines and brake lines ordered. Old are home made and rusty - not a good look for brakes or gas lines. 68 GS400 coupe - nothing happening except purchasing parts like fenders and core supports!
Ted "Wildcat65" Nagel
Deck lid primed and in place for test fit here. The frame has some damage in front so when I saw this full frame with engine, transmission (4-sp) and in good shape ...well it will be money well spent to purchase this one in better shape. Plus I need the clutch assembly for another project. A quick trip to MN and we are set! Cheers

Ted "Wildcat65" Nagel
Mystery engine on the new frame! Looks like it may have started as a 67- at least the heads and intake look like 67. numbers on the block are ground off. A VIN is clear on one deck though...
