Seller's Description

Here is a 1934 Austin Ruby, this is a rare car in the states and cherished in the UK. These were the first cars to be cut down for many specials. They competed in hill climbs and rallies across England. This is a cool little car looks like a mini Ford Vickey. Was running and driving years back then got sidetracked and stashed away. Just put new tire and tubes on the old girl. Try to find another… Text me for more information 914 three 8

Can not open page, I take it, that means the car is sold, in two days.

Maybe you can't see it because you are not logged in to Facebook? It has NOT been sold.
I could forward your phone number to the seller if you like. or your email. And you could get information directly from the seller, pictures sent, etc.

There are no pictures of the engine posted by the seller if that's what you are wondering.

No photo description available.

Another English car in New York area.

1964 English Austin FX4 London Taxi - $1,800 (Cornwall Bridge) - $1,800 (Cornwall Bridge CT)

The iconic London taxi. This one drove to where it has been parked for many years. It is quite rusty underneath and some rust elsewhere. Front floors are pretty much rusted out (see photo). There are probably other issues as well. I know it needs new headlights and tires. The windshield is cracked, but it's flat glass so an easy job for any good automotive glass shop.

The heavy frame is quite sturdy.

The engine turns with a wrench on the crankshaft nut. Haven't tried it on the starter motor but I would guess it will crank over.

06705 on the odometer.

2178cc. Austin diesel engine, four speed transmission.

This would be great as an eyecatcher in front of a pub or other business with a quick coat of paint on it. I suppose it could be restored as well with a good bit of work.

The meter (in pesetas for some reason) is not connected.

Bill of sale only. No title on Connecticut vehicles older than 1990.

I can deliver this for $1.50 per one-way mile, or help load it on a truck.

Here's a bunch more English cars

'

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/d/fresno-selling-large-classic-car/7432006228.html

This is a rare opportunity to purchase what we believe to be the largest collection of classic Austin's in the United States. These cars are the result of a lifetime of collecting. They have been imported from England, Australia, Canada, the UK and have also been purchased from here in the states. They've been stored for decades inside a warehouse in Fresno and have recently been discovered. There's about 30 vehicles ranging from 1947 to 1954 and thousands of good parts. This is a once in a lifetime chance to purchase the entire collection and begin a new chapter restoring, selling and enjoying these cars! The price will include the 10,000sf warehouse until 12-31-22 so you have plenty of time to sell the collection car by car or to get started in the restoration business. You'll also have a huge parts inventory to sell and use towards your own projects. We have the cars listed on a website called rareaustins dot com for more detailed pictures. This is a local deal so we are open to offers and interesting trades.

Thanks for all the images, folks. It is nice to see such a collection of British cars in the United States, mostly in left hand drive!

Note that the "Austin Ruby," shown by Mike in the first 4 posts, is actually an Austin Seven.

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_7

Ruby is the variant - a late model saloon. The Tourer (open top) was the most popular model.

Here is a supercharged, nitro-methane fuelled, race car version:

That's an amazing collection of A40's and A90's. Doesn't seem to be any prices. I doubt any will be realistically priced. They probably paid about what any sensible person would pay and are now trying to double their money. A90 converts can achieve quite high prices but these ones all look fairly rough.

For years I had a notion that a A40 Sports would be interesting. But the right deal never presented itself. These days they cost more than I feel they are worth. And only a small handful remain local to me. By the time you factor in transportation there are better cars for the money.
