Zamora
I lifted the carpet on the passenger side underneath the dash and found these two compartments but not sure witch one is the transsmison plug ???
hwellens
This may help; It may be easier to fill from under the car based on where the plug is located. Edited February 26, 2021 by hwellens Add data (see edit history)
c49er
The fill plug for the 10W transmission oil is accessed from below the car on the passenger side of the car. You will see a metal tag on the trans that says use 10 W only.. The fill plug is right by the tag.

EP 80-90 or EP 80-140 should handle just about anything you will encounter (PS: If anyone suggests K-Y lube, they're on the wrong forum) Edited March 1, 2021 by Marty Roth typo (see edit history) 2

padgett
I would probably try 80-90 first and if it whines, 80-140 might help.

hwellens
Looks like it is a hydraulic oil. Not for gears. This multi-functional, low viscosity fluid has been formulated specifically for tractors using a centralized system to lubricate the transmission differential wet brakes, power steering and hydraulic systems. Outstanding frictional properties provide chatter free operation of the wet brakes, prolonging the life of the oil seals, hydraulic hoses and other rubber parts while also protecting gears, pumps and other parts from high load wear. Recommended for equipment with common transmission, hydraulic, final drive and wet brakes pumps where intermixing may occur due to implement attached. Rusty_OToole
That is fine for the transmission, you need a heavy gear oil for the rear axle. My Service Data Book (1953) recommends hypoid gear oil, 90 in summer, 80 in winter. Today we have multigrade oils that do the same thing. marcapra
You might have a devil of a time trying to undo the pipe plug that drains the differential! On my 48 DeSoto, it is a female square plug that is the very odd size of 5/16's. I had to special order a 5/16 male square end wrench, and it was no help. Why? Because someone in the distant past had tried to unscrew it and now the female square is rounded out!
