JACK M
These cars new sold for $995 in Portland. For a hundred more they would paint it any color as they all came in white. I bought a new one for a commuter, quite the POS. 1
58L-Y8
I posted this since I was surprised any survive in this country, much less than in the Midwest. These were the first cars Subaru marketed in the U.S., were a miserable failure. I recall that Malcom Bricklin was behind the operation and that when they sold poorly, he set up an autocross track where anyone could pay to rent one and run it as a field car. Still, there is a butt for every seat, so for some mini-car collector, this one might be a prize...go figure!

Some years ago, I saw one at a show in Pennsylvania or thereabouts. It was in excellent condition, I believe all original. They are extremely small when you see them next to something of ordinary size. I remember the metal loop into which the hood latch connected was about as thick as coat-hanger wire!
