Brass Era Mail Vehicle

Going through images and found this wonderful brass era mail car/truck. No idea what it is, but possibly the best mail vehicle ever. Any and all help appreciated.

Can't help you with the make but do you suppose there is a rear door which has been removed, that contains the word "STATES"?

Looks a lot like about a 1908 REO to me.

The shape of the hood and radiator look a lot like an Overland.  The shape of the radiator cap also looks oval, so I definitely think it is an Overland.

I believe the door is swung open ("suicide style") to the point where it appears invisible in this shot

Could be a sliding door.

I think it is a sliding door. We have an official US Mail sleigh in our local museum. It has Sliding doors. It was made only a few years before this picture.

is there a DOT after the Mail ? 

that would mean that the front door is also missing (it would have read "COM")
