ValleyDesignsND.com Riviera Wall Display

Below is the preview for the wall display I ordered from Valley Designs ND.

I sent them an Adobe Illustrator file of a graphic I had made of The Aqua Zephyr a couple of years ago.

This display won't have the 3-D look of Valley Designs ND's other products, but I think this design will work well, especially with the turquoise LED lights they are putting in it.

I will post pictures of the actual wall display once it is received and hung in either my garage or one of my rooms in the house (if mama will let me hang it in the house!)

Thanks to @Craig Balzer for sharing his Christmas gift with us. You inspired me to get one too!

I received my wall display for The Aqua Zephyr today. To say I am pleased is an understatement!

Now to find a place in my garage to mount it! 😊

Looks Great Mike!!!

Besides finding where to mount it in your garage, you’ll have to figure out how to “light and display” it at car shows.

Garage?  Hang it up in your living room.

Naaa, Mama ain't gonna allow that to happin' in a million years!

Especially since I have to drill two holes in the wall to hang this display on the wall.

:-P

I'll bet that's easier than you'd think.  Look at the 'wall wart' (aka: brick that you plug into the wall) and find out what the output voltage is.  I wouldn't be surprised if it's 12 VDC...

IF mamma is the problem you DIDN'T break her in properly from the beginning.

My wife doesn't need any "break in".

I hope you don't really mean this because it's a very offensive thing to say.

Mike,

I am sorry if this comment offended you. That was not my intention.  It was meant to be funny, a joke on my end.

Again my apology's to you & your wife. I really meant no harm.

Tom Telesco

Thank you, Tom!

Mike -- that sure is an eye-catcher.

How did you mount the base to the wall?

My display is the wall mount version, not the desktop version.

I used a torpedo level to level the display. I then marked the wall through the pre-drilled holes then I put drywall anchors in the drywall.

I then screwed in the supplied mounting hardware to the anchors and attached the display to the mounting hardware.

It's a 10 minute job if you already have the right sized drywall anchors, which  fortunately, I did.

Figure out how to light it in the back window on the package tray like the low riders do their chrome gang...I mean club logos. You might start something.

Valley Designs has a battery box for use of the sign away from it's normal home location.

This would be ideal for a desktop display set in the back window of a Riviera at a car show.

Click this link to see the battery box

They also make a direct hook-up to a car battery

Are you planning on attending the Kalamazoo meet in June?

It depends on whether I have a Riviera by then. It feels silly to me to attend another ROA International Meet without one. I felt very welcomed at Gettysburg, so this is my particular issue. I did recently re-up my ROA membership for the next three years.

Riviera ownership is NOT a pre-requisite for membership or meet attendance, my friend. Besides, you can always ride with us in the AZ!

Thank you, as always. That's why I say these are my issues …
