Larry3951
My wife recently came across this photo of her deceased Grandmother. I was hoping someone could tell us what year and model the truck is. Thankyou in advance.
keiser31
Chevrolet or GMC. 1946 or so. This one has the fender wells cut out to more of a radius. Edited August 17, 2018 by keiser31 (see edit history)
TerryB
1940s with the lights on the fender, 1946 or 47?
Bloo
1941 seems to have less fender cutaway than 1946, at least on a larger truck. It still has the parking lights on top. Or, maybe it's a pickup.

OP pic doesn't show grille but bars are vertical on Chev and horizontal on GMC. Edited August 17, 2018 by CHuDWah (see edit history)
Bloo
Another 41. I can't really see a fender difference for 46 on the pickups.

Dave Mellor NJ
The parking light on the headlight is actually slightly larger on the 41 which I think the subject truck is

nzcarnerd
I think the military versions had the more cutaway fenders?
Bloo
1 hour ago, nzcarnerd said: I think the military versions had the more cutaway fenders? Maybe, but apparently that feature (it seems to be only on the big trucks) carried through to 1946 civilian production after the war. The new "Advance Design" trucks, a complete redesign, came out only a year later in 1947. Here is a big truck still hauling fruit for the company that bought it new in 1946. It has the cut out fenders. This truck was never military. It has been blue and black since the beginning.
