Spinneyhill
Apparently, the last one was not built in Flint but a few minutes later in the (LA?) factory?
Grandpa
In 1942, Buick had three assembly plants - - - Flint (Michigan), South Gate (California), and Linden (New Jersey). I am not sure what plant produced the last 1942 Buick - - - South Gate or Linden.
Grandpa
The attached picture of the final assembly area was taken at the South Gate BOP plant in 1939. The details of the South Gate building do not match the picture in the original post (#1). Perhaps the post #1 picture was taken at the Linden plant. MCHinson
The original photo is from Flint. Read the caption.
Morgan Wright
There is a '42 for sale right now on ebay. Punch it up, the 42's are pretty rare. It needs work but it's going cheap so far.

neil morse
Have you tried contacting the Buick Heritage Alliance? They might know the answer. http://www.buickheritagealliance.org/contact
Bob Engle
Do you have the last car built? or are you building a replica of it ? The orginal data plate would tell the color. Bob Engle
Daves1940Buick56S
From the photo, and comparing the luminance to the color charts, I would say one of the grays, one of the light blues, or one of the light greens. Everything else would be too dark. Cheers, Dave
Gary W
It doesn't necessarily state the last Buick was built in Flint, just that THIS photo is the last car that came off the Flint line. I presume every assembly branch had a "last car" produced before the war. On the "Black Out" models, the chrome was painted body color, usually in the battleship grey tones. Buick was able to use up their stock of bumpers and thus the last Flint car sports a chrome bumper. Hope it helps your project! Gary
chris11
Thank you Gary , That was helpful the bumper did look chrome that's one of my questions and I get the gray trim. I was trying to find the color of that car in the picture because we are going to have the wall with all the workers printed as wall paper on it with the front of the car coming out of the wall. Gary W
Just found one more, although your photo appears to have a gloss paint job, which I guess means the last flint car is not a "black out" car, here is some more information: "Two-Toned Grey Buick Specials used by the Navy"
