navigator4
This old car has had its front clip cut off, but one fender survived, attached to the frame. Guessing late 30's sedan, but which one? Thanks!
keiser31
Early 1930s like about a 1932.
Dave Henderson
The rear quarter window details appear much like a '33 Plymouth's, except the lower hinge could be a bit low, maybe. The fender shown has earlier styling. Possibly from another car, but the beads do seem to match, as does the patina.
F&J
1 minute ago, Dave Henderson said: The fender shown has earlier styling. I saw that yesterday.. If you look at where the body was cut, they were making a doodlebug cutdown or a open "truck", so I think that might not be the original chassis because the cowl/engine is gone? 32-33 body details at windshield/roof ...but maybe an orphan brand? nzcarnerd
As a guess - 1933 Plymouth.
dodgedh2
Not a Plymouth, molding forms are different.
dodgedh2
Closet i can find is a 1933 Willys 6-90. The molding shape looks the same, Header panel above windshield looks close. Front fenders are different.
Dave Henderson
Google '33 plymouth to see one with those moldings around the window.

The chassis and fenders are not Plymouth as F&J stated. Edited July 29, 2016 by keiser31 (see edit history)
keiser31
The front fender and frame look a lot like 1930 Chevrolet AD....this one has fender mounted parking lamps. Edited July 30, 2016 by keiser31 (see edit history)
navigator4
Thanks for your time in looking into this, I never would have guessed the chassis/fender and the body did not go together! I agree the Plymouth looks right for the body, and the Chevy for the fender. I think those rear windows had a roll-down mechanism, too. I can run out there and take more pics, if you need some specific detail; it's not too far away. There used to be a couple other old car bodies within a mile or so of this one, but they have disappeared over the years.

navigator4
Could the body go with the cowl/engine/frame in my other thread? http://forums.aaca.org/topic/280278-which-chrysler-is-it/ That would make it a 1929 Chrysler 75 (or Plymouth?). Looks pretty close: http://downtownmotorcarsales.com/chrysler/89586-1929-chrysler-model-75-sedan.html I will get out there and see what other details I can find and photograph. dodgedh2
Hey keiser, right again. I was stuck on '32 Plymouth, which had molding shape like '31 and prior. The '33 Willys 6-90 has very similar molding on rear of body.
Alfre
The frame could be 29 or 30 chevy. Al
navigator4
A little damp today, but went out and took some more pics, maybe enough details to make a positive-ish ID. Note the rear forming is straight across the back; the Willys' curves upward. Also the rear side window shape is different. The green '33 that Keiser31 posted looks right, but kills my thought that this body goes to the cowl I linked above. The body looks like it rolled on its left side, and the frame appears to have been broadsided.
keiser31
No, the body does not go with the cowl. The cowl is a 1930 Chrysler. The body is 1933 Plymouth and the frame with fender is 1929-1930 Chevrolet. Edited August 2, 2016 by keiser31 (see edit history)

navigator4
On the Chevy frame, could that round thing on the right rear be a step to get into a rumble seat?
