Craig Gillingham
I have a very long 98" AC speedo cable, with a right angle drive. I'm guessing it would date from the late 20's or early 30's, but I can't figure out what it could be from. Does anyone know? And, if anyone had an AC cable catalogue from this period, and be happy to pay for a copy.
Layden B
Perhaps a tachometer drive cable for a fire engine? Control panel was often behind the cab and of course mounted so it could be used by someone standing on the ground. Tach was needed to show the engine speed and there was a long throttle control wire.

Curti
The speedo cable in an Auburn with a dual ratio rear diff. is 11 feet long. It runs off the rear axle.

Ozstatman
G'day Craig, It could possibly be a tachometer drive like the one in this thread on PackardInfo where there's a photo in Post #14 which shows the right angle drive for a tacho off the rear of the generator in a '39 Packard. http://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?viewmode=flat&type=&topic_id=14562&forum=

Restorer32
Cable for an early Stewart speedo that drove off a gear on the front wheel as pictured above on the Overland. Originally had a fiber gear that drove off a steel toothed gear on the inside of a front wheel. Common on early cars.
8E45E
It appears to have connections from each side of the 90° end. I wonder if its a splitter for a meter in a taxicab. Or, if its for a big rig, perhaps a splitter for a Tachograph. Craig
oily rag
One side of the 90 should be a grease cup.
