3790
I am rebuilding a 1937 series 90 engine which I believe is the 320 cu. in. engine. What rods can I use to have insert bearings?
Pete Phillips
I believe 1948 and newer (through 1952) are the ones with the insert bearings. Pete Phillips, BCA #7338
MCHinson
You may want to read the article starting on page 16 (page 18 of the pdf file) of the Torque Tube II Volume VI Issue 7 available at this link: http://www.1937and1938buicks.com/The-Torque-Tube/Volume%20VI%20Issue%207%20(May%201988).pdf
37_Roadmaster_C
I just went through this with the rebuild of the 320 in my 37 Roadmaster this spring. I had the stock rods machined by Egge along with buying new pistons. The work was perfect and the insert bearings fit and gauged perfectly (.010 under on the crank). I would highly recomend going this way as finding insert rods is normally very dificult. Be sure to get the crank done first so that you get the correct bearings for the rods. R Also, 37 320 pistons are not available, but 38s are and the only difference is a very slight increase in compression. My rebuild purrs like a Buick . Bill Stoneberg
Terrill Machine in DeLeon Texas can do this or supply the rods for you. I did this with my 1947.

Buicknutty
I also used them for my '41 320. Good service, and everything fit perfect, fair pricing, too. Keith
