Guest Nancy DeWitt
Clarence "Slim" Haken's collection is being sold at auction this week. Lots of rust and pieces-parts--maybe some treasures in there.Apologies if this has already been posted.

benjamin j
I saw some interesting vehicles that I would consider if I was needing another project right now. Does anybody know what the story is on the titles? I don’t understand what they are saying about 3 year branded title?
caddyshack
Could have said "barn find". That would add a few thousand to the bids.
Bleach
Lots of them aren't even up to scrap value.
Fleek
From State of Idaho site. [h=6]BRANDED TITLE:[/h] After a salvage certificate has been surrendered with an application for title and other pertinent forms and fees, the title will be issued with the brand “Rebuilt Salvage”. The brand will appear in the “Other Pertinent Data” section of the title, just below the vehicle description and to the right of the owner information. The brand will remain on the title for the life of the vehicle.
Guest prs519
Lots of them aren't even up to scrap value. It takes a very challenging project to be of sub-scrap value!
Dave Mellor NJ
They had some cars for 6 or 7 dollars like this Studey. That's under scrap value.
West Peterson
Most of the bids have not yet reached scrap value. Good that they have offered these to car collectors first. There are a lot of good parts. Unfortunately for those of us in the East, the cost of transportation to retrieve anything would double, triple or quadruple (or much higher) the cost of purchase. If you need a whole parts car, that's one thing, but if you only need a few of the parts, it makes the decision much tougher. There are two cars in there for which I would really like to have some parts, but I just can't figure out how to do it. I'd be willing to give the rest of the car to someone in exchange for someone taking off just two parts. In regards to rust, I don't see much other than surface oxidation. AC Fuhrman
Amazing to me the number of collections of dozens of cars (and other things) that people have. Seems there are several of these kinds of sales each month, not to mention all the reality TV 'look what I found' and 'hoarder' shows. Fun to watch! I think it might be a 1948 model
dan at larescorp
Considering Studebaker wasn't in business in the 70's I believe you're correct.
Dave Mellor NJ
That bus was likely from WWII. The styling went from 41-48, I think it's known as M5 series. There were so many available buses in those days I doubt they were building new ones in 48.
