  1. This is bumper that I have had for a few years. I do not know what car it belongs to. In the center of the bumper it looks to have the letter H.
  2. https://www.bobdrake.com/Categories3.aspx?Id=38wiperarmsandblades Most of the ford reproduction wiper parts will fit the Hudsons as well.
  3. Jim would have your gas tank. http://www.jimsvintageautomotive.com/ What was done on the front fenders of that Hudson? Looks like someone cut out a square on both of them.
  4. It would be easy to convert that car to a sedan delivery. Cars like that are not scraped, they are turned in to Hot rods/customs/street rods/rat rods. If wanting to build one, buying a donor car that is in nice shape, just needing a re-paint would be the way to go. Gut the interior, do the mods, body work and paint. Then install the interior, that way you avoid the rebuild cost of the car. To start from scratch the restoration costs will ad up fast (as we all know) I would not be afraid to take on a project like that, can not be harder then cutting a Jaguar in four pieces. There are some great 30's sedans that would look good converted in to a truck.
  5. What you end up with, is a reflection of what you started with. If a person wanted to do the project, starting with a good foundation will save you a ton of money.
  6. I bet the sun would just cook you, sitting in a car with tops like that.
  7. Just a good example of the prices one can find on projects in this part of the country.
  8. Taxes, title and dealer doc fee. Seller passed on the under coating.
  9. I remember seeing pictures of early Hudson's with a large trunk lid that would open up to be able to slide a person in. The car would have no back seat, and would be used like an ambulance. I do not think the top picture is messed up. That large trunk is there for a reason.
  10. Most sellers around here get taken to the cleaners. All of the years that I have sold stuff, it all most always goes out of state. And a lot of the cars that we have bought, we bought out of state as well. More people are moving here, so maybe prices will be good for the seller. I hope he does well, meet him a few times, and he was always nice to me. Loved showing the cars and projects that he had. I will go and watch, as the crow flies it is about one mile from my house.
  11. Talked to a guy the other day, and he told me about this auction. I have meet the owner of the cars before, nice guy. The website does not have pictures up yet. He has some Brass cars, one is an early Tourist. And he has about five Cadillac's 1929-31. There is also a lot of parts for the early Cadillac's. He had a lot of single piston engines, some big ones. Posting so if anyone has some interest. They can contact the Auction company. http://downsauction.com/event/bengoechea-estate-auction-2-2-4/?instance_id=35
  12. I seem to remember some one saying to me that this is a forum for restored cars? Love the job you did Restorer32.
  13. Money does not buy happiness, but it allows you to look for it in more places.
  14. The ACD club had a story on the Duesenburg, and the lady that owned it. Interesting to read the story.
  15. There are still a lot of 55-57's around here that need to be restored/built. They are not outside anymore, looked up in buildings. If a person can store all the stuff inside, more power to you. It is sad to see stuff sitting out in parts of the country where the weather kills it. Here is a link to a 1940 Ford grill http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1940-Ford-Deluxe-Grille,3047.html I have installed one of these on a car. Very nice, Let me know who could re-chrome an original for the $399. Always nice to see re-chromed grill bars showing the reflection of the bottom of the bar right above it. Better fix the pits on the bottom of the bars as well. Tough to compete with quality reproduction items. As stated above, there is a lot of reproduction parts that are junk. I think people get away with selling some of it, because it takes people so long to finish a project. By the time you go to put some of that crap on, you have owned it for a few years. All parts need to be ordered and installed in the mock up phase of a build/restoration. Owning a shop and dealing with after market parts, you learn very quick that a crappy part on a customers car will become your problem very fast on the end of the project.
  16. Maybe it was the first "Baby on board" sign, or " My kid was an honor roll student"
  17. Panels can be found around here for 3,500-5,000 Dry clean trucks. What are you looking for? With a low buy in price, a person would go way over the cost of shipping just in rust repairs.
