  2. A few trucks on the market right now. One in this post is a good buy in price. https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/pts/d/hayward-1946-hudson-big-boy-truck/7499293706.html
  3. That is not the sedan I was thinking of. Went through my old pictures and found the car that I was thinking of. These cars were up in Bonners Ferry Idaho. Not sure what happened to these cars. He had a bunch of cars up there.
  4. Nose on a 41 is a little different. Cab is the same, it would bolt right up. 41 trucks are good looking. Nice grill and hood trim. The rust on the 49, on the drivers side next to the grill would be of concern. That is not a place where rust first starts to appear. Seller does say floor rust. Looks like it could be a good club coupe. I can tell you from experience, you do not want a rusty step down. No fun to repair those. The 54 Wasp sedan might have come to the end of the road. It better have a lot going for it after cleaning and inspection.
  5. Lots of parts can come off of the sedan. Truck is a 3/4 ton, not a 1/2 ton. The sedan is also a super six, not a commodore. I know for a fact you can turn a sedan roof into a hard top for a convertible.
  6. If anyone on here buys the truck, I have a lot of extra parts for 46-47 Hudson’s.
  7. I like the auctions. Take them for what they are. Fun to take time out and go on a road trip for car stuff. Auctions are tagged onto the Hershey swap meet. It is all one big classic car Ecosystem that keeps all this afloat. Start removing any part of it. And you will see a disastrous impact on a hobby/industry/trade. I don’t have cable. Could not tell you what car shows are still on TV.
  8. Smart money would buy the sedan and the truck. Use the sedan as a parts car for the truck.
  9. The 41 is a 47. Glad I have a truck, or I would be going to get this one. I miss my 49 coupe now seeing this one. I think I have a picture of that 35 Hudson.
  10. That was a story in the WTN magazine. In about 1991? A guy told the story that he found his italia in the back of an auto parts store. They had the car buried in the back and used it like a shelf to store parts on. I think it was in the one that had the X1?? (What ever that number was) on the cover. The four door italia that was found in LA being used as a dog kennel. I remember the story saying they could not sell the italia. No one wanted it.
  11. I hope the wedding vows said to love and cherish, and allow plenty of garage/shop time.
  12. Cool original truck for sale. https://m.facebook.com/marketplace/item/407110148018048/?ref=browse_tab&search_query=1958&tracking={"qid"%3A"-6045949320820314887"%2C"mf_story_key"%3A"5169065399878770"%2C"commerce_rank_obj"%3A"{\"target_id\"%3A5169065399878770%2C\"target_type\"%3A0%2C\"primary_position\"%3A-1%2C\"ranking_signature\"%3A0%2C\"commerce_channel\"%3A503%2C\"value\"%3A0}"%2C"ftmd_400706"%3A"111112l"}
  13. Maybe the brackets go above the tank, with the straps drawing the tank up into the brackets? I have never worked on one of those.
  14. I would have never guessed that Essex caps were reproduced. Did not think the Essex line of cars had a big following in the 20’s.
  15. I have seen that before. Went to one house in Idaho to look at a car that someone told me about. Two sisters lived in this boarded up house. Born there, never left. No power, no running water. Everything that was ever brought on the property by their family for over a span of 75-100 years. Was still there, placed in a way to create paths around the property. They had a late 50’s Cadillac Fleetwood that had the rear roof section cut out, trunk lid removed. Rear seats removed, and the rear tail panel was cut out. So their father could load and haul calves in the car. Good times.
  16. In some counties across America. Old bust up cars, living room furniture and used washers and dryers. Are a symbol of wealth and status. Some countries use lama’s and yams as instruments of commerce. Never under estimate the bargaining power of a parked vintage rag top in the old car world.🧐

  18. Trucks are fun to fix up and bring back to life. They present some challenges that are not found in restoring/building cars. Finding a well cared for vintage truck can be difficult. Most have been worked pretty hard. A Nice long sweeping curve/bow can be found when looking at a truck from the side. Always look at point of attachments for suspension components and hangers for leaf springs. Sanding out single wall bed sides is a fun one as well. Dent on one side is a high spot on the other.
  19. That was my V12. Had an extra block and other parts. Fire truck was sent to the great fire house in the sky.
  20. I had a 1944 American la France. Same style as yours. Could not give it away, fire department did not even want it.
