  1. One big mistake I have seen a lot of people make. They buy a car, and want to build a street rod or a custom. They already have the vision of the completed project. So they tear into the project, set aside all of the parts that they know will not be on the finished product. Those parts are in the way, so they are sold, scrapped or given away. Then the realization sets in as to what they have gotten involved in. Time, cost involved and space needed to finish the project, tools and ability. The thing sets, torn apart, with very little market value. A lot of people have a big misconception of how much work goes into a restoration/build of a car. I have always been very good about not collecting stuff. I do not want to deal with extra crap. I am sure nobody else would want to deal with my stuff when I am gone. You pack your bags when you check out of a hotel. Not much vision is needed to see check out time coming.😳
  2. If you are going to haul the whole family across the country. Then the vista cruiser is the wagon for you.😂
  3. My first choice in a wagon would be a 55 Desoto. Followed by one of these Chryslers. Great cargo space in the back, to haul all of your restoration receipts.😂🤪🤔
  4. The rear bumpers on these cars are a little bulky. Looks like they tried to match the front bumper, that is shaped for the front of the car. And the rear of the car does not share that same design.
  5. This car got me thinking. Is the restoration on a car ever old enough to create a desirable original patina? Or is it just a old restoration? I know it is only original once. But even the restoration is now pushing 60 years old. Does a 1905 Cadillac get a second chance at a wonderful original patina. If judged first place. And shows it’s age. Any added value for the age of the restoration?

  7. Maybe the 41 Cad is being seized by the national bureau of white walls. For allowing those tires to get so dirty.
  8. It has clear plastic seat covers on it.
  9. Those were to be shipped to my house. There must be a mix up in paper work somewhere.😂 that is better than Santa’s sleigh. Somebody is going to be happy.
  10. Blends in, like a white van. You would never spot them with all the wagons on the road/path.
  11. A boat has a outboard motor. Or is it outboard engine? What is the inboard power plant/drivetrain of a Amphicar called?
  12. My grandmother drove a Crosley on her mail route in Nampa Idaho. To far to walk, from farm to farm. And no need for a large vehicle to haul the mail.
  13. They are just a machine screw (fine thread) flat blade screw head. Can buy mounting screws at local hardware store. The HET website would be a good place to post a wanted ad. I do not have any extra handles for that year. 1934 I think?
  14. Everyone on here would buy a car at a good price and resell for a profit. If they did not want to keep it. We all do the buyer/seller tango. Sellers want the most, buyers want the least. Market value will always come into play. You are all right, just depends on the angle you are coming from.
  15. There is a guy in Idaho that just does 59-60 Chevrolets. He has about 50-60 of them. I think he advertised in Hemmings. He has a lot of parts.
  16. I can not remember off hand, if my new 47 Hudson truck is an early, or late production?😉
  17. Not sure what you are talking about.🤫 that is a late production 47 that had some new for 48 things on it.🤔
  18. I have a picture of what happens when a blackberry vine gets in a open wing window on a 47 Hudson truck. You get that green house thing going through the windshield. Throw in Pacific Northwest rain and humidity. You get thick lush berry producing vines that take over an interior. Yummy berries.😋
