  1. I am just helping them through the dying/grieving process. Comforting them as they prepare for the journey onto the highway of ever after. I perform a service, years of neglect and abuse has brought them to me. Drawn, almost magically by a Devine power. Into my waiting arms. I let them know the comet is on the way, as I place the car cover over them.🀫
  2. It’s always the big boy starting the problems.
  3. I have always liked that body style in the convertible. Good thing I have my projects. Or I might look into that rust free thing.
  4. The biggest problem with drums is surface contact of the shoe/pad to the drum. Not really a problem back in the day. Service shops had tools to shape the shoes and pads. You get a drum brake system working properly. With 100% surface contact of the brake pads on the drums. You will be able to do a dash board taste test. They really lock up. It is just a different type of car, so you drive it accordingly. Look at how many people put performance cars in the ditch. They have the best brakes out there.
  5. They do talk. Do not stack them on lifts. Then they can see what really goes on.
  6. You still have my Cord Auburnseeker? No need to let it get dusty sitting there.
  7. I have a Hudson that talks to much.πŸ€”
  8. Everyone drools over finding that car just how it sits. But if it was listed for sale, people would say seller did not even wash it or push it outside.πŸ˜€
  9. You might check the starter relay. Older ones you can take apart and clean. Just a copper disk that makes contact on two terminals, and allows power to pass through the relay to the starter. That copper disk and terminals gets burnt, pitted and corroded over time. The copper disk can also rotate, causing problems sometimes but not all the time. Easy to pull apart by yourself and clean.
  10. What you type in can show different things as well. White wall, white walls, whitewall and whitewalls. Will get different results on different websites. Hubcaps and wheel covers get different results. I have found stuff searching different ways of identifying the part. Some people use a lot of key words, some use none.

  12. My dad had enough hand tools that I could use to get started tearing into my first old car. Work stopped when rear drums needed a puller to get them off. That was the first thing I bought. You will not get those off with out one. And you do want to screw on the nut on the end of the axle, to keep the drum from flying off. Had to take heat to break them loose with the puller under tension. And you could get hurt removing them if you are not careful. Being bolted down and rusting for 60 years really locks stuff up.
  13. Market place will determine its value. Just like everything else. Condition and fitting issues are all things that can be fixed. You can not hang your head in shame driving around an open Packard.
  14. The black one was a 35, and price was dropped to 12,000.
  15. There was one of these for sale at the Portland swap meet. Someone posted a picture of it. Can not remember if they posted the price. It was a black one. It is in the Portland swap meet thread.
  16. Well management is engaged in abuse of power. Who ever management is. Not part of something. This picture loaded fine, just not those pictures.πŸ€”
  17. Trying to post pictures of the tires that exploded on my trailer, while going to get the Cadillac. My phone locks up every time. They are watching, now they are in my phone.😳
  18. I am here visiting Idaho, asking questions in this State will get you cut off from fry sauce. Keep asking questions around here and the finger pointing starts. Refusing to stop asking questions, and it is Hee Haw reruns for little fella. Then you are banished from the potato kingdom for good. And they watch when you return.😬 potatoes do have eyes.
  19. This pulled up alongside of me today. What would be the benefit or reason to trailer a car on jack stands.
  20. Question about pictures above. Was the Royal a fancier model, and finished out nicer than the Imperial?
