  1. Surfing different market places for vintage parts. I have noticed that sellers are asking a lot for original steel wheels. Artillery wheels seem to bring the most money. There are companies that reproduce artillery wheels. So the question is, what would be the benefit of going with a 90 year old wheel. Versus going with a brand new one. Has anyone ever had an original steel wheel fail due to age and fatigue?

  5. Had two 56 Corvettes, no numbers matching on the early ones as others mentioned. Fun cars to drive around, depending on your physical size. They can be very uncomfortable for long periods of time. Factory bonding strips, rust in the frame, condition of the fiberglass body, date coded parts are all some of the things to look for. Your can get a NCRS pocket book. It will have the numbers in it that you will want to look for. Fun cars, a loved classic where ever you go with it.
  6. 1976 Datsun pickup, it was a long bed and orange in color. One of the old service vehicles from my dad’s electrical contracting business. Had about a million miles on it, still ran, used a little oil with every tank of gas. No pictures to show, was not worth wasting film on.
  7. I went to a house that had about 14 Hudson’s for sale. There was a 54 Hornet sedan sitting there full of rust. I just wanted the power steering setup for my 53 coupe. Guy wanted 1,100 dollars for it. I passed on the steering setup. Kept looking at the cars there. And there was another 54 Hornet sedan full of rust. Opened the hood, engine and transmission are gone. But someone pulled the power steering pump with bracket off of the engine. And it is just setting on the front cross member. Still connected to the steering ram. Asked the owner what he wanted for that whole car. He said that one has rust, and no drive train. You can have it for $100 dollars. So I bought that car for just the power steering setup. And parted it out.🤪😂
  8. I purchased a 1937 Terraplane coupe years ago. Just for the crank hole cover in the grill. I knew I could make a few bucks on the car. So the purchase was not a big deal. But the main reason for buying it, was just to get one part off of the car.
  9. That is a 1937 Hudson Terraplane utility coupe. It was my fathers, he did all of the work on it himself. Farming out only the interior, and I went through the Buick 455 for him. Nice car, he bought it when I was about 16-17 years old. Sitting on a farm next to a shed. About three months later, the guy I bought my first hudson from, 1952 Hudson Wasp, I told him about the 37 my dad bought. And he said there is another one right down the road from here. Went to check it out, and ended up buying it. So we each had factory Utility coupes. You can see the three cars in the picture, mine was the green one. With the Hudson Wasp on the end. Mine ended up being sold in black primer, with a 392 Hemi in it. Went to eastern Idaho, would like to know what happened to it? My dad finished out his car over 10+ years. He started to have health issues, and had me list the car for him. It went to southern California. Car drove very nice, I bet the new owner never had any problems with it. Just put his own touches on it, is my guess. Car was sold around Sept 2016.
  10. Here is a picture taken of the backyard at my old hose. It was taken during one of my customer parties that were put on every year. All the land below in the distance is at the center of the pending development of a Golf course. This is what all of my posts over the years have been about. You can follow it if you like. Hopefully a criminal investigation will unfold. And crimes committed against innocent people will be exposed. https://www.facebook.com/groups/687320109095751 There are some trees in the picture.

  12. 100 miles to the gallon. Depending on where you lived. It could be a very good mode of transportation. Tangling with a Ford F-350 on the open road. Would be very bad. The F-350 might need a new tire.

  14. I bet a drill is the #1 non returned item. Or maybe a spark plug socket.
  15. It was used in a post hole digging crime. And returned to frame you.😂 having used a post hole digger, I can say it is good to be able to say sorry, I can’t help. I do not have a post hole digger.
  16. How many more class winning cars are still out there needing restoration? Never been to Pebble Beach, are some of those cars older restorations redone? Just seems to me you will run out of one off custom bodied upper end cars to be restored and shown.
  17. I have a tool someone let me use. A degree wheel for camshafts. I never saw him again. That was 28 years ago. Still have it. His name is Mark, had a Hudson he was working on. Lived around Lake Stevens in Washington St. happy to return it, never wanted it in the first place. And to Bill in Idaho, you could have returned the transmission jack you borrowed for your Mustang. But with all the memory loss going on in Star. I can see how one could forget. That wraps up my borrowed tool conversation.🧐
  18. Cool car, glad it found a home. Even if it sits in a building just like that for 50 years. It lives on.
  19. You can’t find Hudson trucks for 600 dollars. I knew it would sell fast. Maybe someone on here got it, or tipped a friend about it.
