  1. How about the Panhard Dynamic or the Tatra 603. Both very individualistic, incredible cars.
  2. Another Peugeot that was a leader in innovation was the 402 with the retractable roof introduced in 1938, 19 years before Ford brought their retractable.
  3. I think it is obvious that the design of the Peugeot 202 and 302 was influenced by the Chrysler Airflow. Unlike the Airflow which met with strong sales resistance, the 202 in particular was enthusiastically accepted by the French motoring public, lasting until 1948. I think European car buyers were more willing to embrace cars which were unconventional in their design.
  4. How many people can remember the tv show Colombo starring Peter Falk? His car on the show was a Peugeot 403 decapotable (convertible).
  5. Are reel type power lawnmowers even available any more?
  6. Fabrique Nationale d'Armes de Guerre, (FN) Belgian maker of automobiles and motorcycles as well as guns.
  7. All rubber parts should be replaced, including hoses.
  8. I'm leaning toward what arcticbuicks is saying. I wonder if that isn't a compression release?
  9. Referred to as an "atmospheric" intake valve.
  10. They have a "damn the consequences" attitude and obviously are having a lot of fun doing it in any of the videos.
  11. I don't have a Special 6, but it doesn't look like a difficult piece for a machine shop to make, rather than looking for a part that is over 100 years old.
  12. The Bondmobile (or maybe one of the copies) was owned by flamboyant Vancouver restauranteur Frank Baker from 1969 to 1981. It was displayed in a glass cage outside his Attic restaurant at the corner of Marine Drive and Taylor Way in West Vancouver.
  13. A friend of mine has been going to the same auto repair shop for decades for work on his north American made vehicles. He currently owns a 1992 Jaguar XJ6 because his wife likes it. That shop refuses to work on it, they won't even change the oil.
  14. Exactly. There is maintenance and then there is maintenance. What most North Americans call maintenance would be scoffed at in Europe.
  15. The Traveler name was applied not only to the Minor station wagon, but also to the Morris Oxford and the Austin Cambridge versions.
  16. 1959 was the first year for the curved windshield. The rear window was enlarged as well on the sedan. The first series Minors had a 918 cc 27.5 horsepower flathead inherited from the prewar Minor. Second series Minors had the 803 Cc ohv engine. The third series is the 1000. The Traveler was the station wagon.
  17. The middle picture is not the same car. It has wire wheels, the other two pictures the vehicle has spoked wheels.
