  1. I haven't had time to sit down and post the pics.. I will this afternoon however. Yes you need a tuck rail- it's very similar to the part that holds the windlace on. Pics will explain it better!
  2. He was the first to get a speeding ticket in a Model A... I believe he got pulled over in Central Park in NYC.... The car was a Roadster..

  4. You could look at some of the modified/street rod vendors... I think you'd be better off getting a double groove pulley for the crank and using that. Running accessories off the water pump is a bad idea IMO... Puts a strain on the bearings and castings which weren't designed to support additional loads.
  5. I can't tell if the ridges are raised or lower than the surface. If the ridges are higher than the surface it's '57 Chev. But it does look like '57 Chevrolet.....
  6. I'll post some pics for you this evening, I have a Sedan and a 2dr ht here I can get pics. The Sedan has it's original interior...
  7. Sounds like your missing the strips. Can you post pics of the interior roof? What body style? Sedan headliners attach differently than hardtops.
  8. There was another story back in 1990 or '91 where a guy had a Model A Standard Roadster. The car only had 8,000 odd miles but it was repainted in the early 30s by the Ford Dealer. This guy sanded the entire car down to reveal the original Andalusite Blue paint. He did say the second color was softer than the original paint and that helped alot.

  10. I'd go with the same paint that the body shop used. It will be cheaper than buying it mail order and will hold up just as good. I use for chassis parts- PPG's Omni MBC base- when I need a satin finish Dupont's Nason Ful-cryl - Acrylic Enamel Dupont Centari- Acrylic Enamel PPG Concept Urethane when I need a hard paint with a good shine.
  11. Great shop!!!!!!!!!! If I was close by and stop in and admire it in person! FWIW- I'm only 28 and an active member in AACA.. The newest car in my collection is 1956 and that's my everyday car... Run across any '55 Olds Hardtop projects keep me in mind....
  12. You could also check your local upholstery shops.. Some sell the Cardboard.. This is how I get mine and there's no frieght charge! The carpet is loose lay the door sill plates etc keep it in place.
  13. Looks to be a 30-31 Model A W/s Frame... It's 30-31 due to the beveled edges on the backside. It also had a vacuum wiper on it. Electric had different hole spacing. Is it for sale?
  14. Too bad he's not going to be in Zephyrhills in Nov. They have a decent car show/swap meet/auction there.. There's a place not far from Zephyrhills known as Memory Lane and they are located in Plant City. Good folks to deal with, I've bought a few things from him. There's a car show in Webster, FL the first Sunday in September.. PM me if you want more details.
  15. The problem is you can build one of these cheaper than it is to go and buy one already done.. that's what most guys do.

  17. I worked on that Model A on page 12 of this issue.. So the Mag made my day!
  18. The last one is a '33 Ford.... 3 window coupe-- a fairly low production model.. I can't make out the other ones.
  19. There's quite a bit of difference between the Model A 30-31 and the '32 Model B/Model 18... The frames are totally different, the wheels are smaller on the '32 18" opposed to 19" on the 30-31's.. '32 Windsheild has a slant to it while the Model A does not. The instrument panel is different on a '32, Fenders are wider and of a different shape, the '32 body is shorter in height compared to a Model A Sedan. And a whole bunch of other minor diffrences. Suffice to say that no Model A part will work on a '32 Body, with the exception of door latch strikers etc... There's really not much comparison between the Model A and the '32..
  20. These were give aways at the Ford exhibit at the World's Fair. I have both of those and one from '34 in my collection. If they are solid brass and solid copper then they are originals..... repops are just plated. But there's many many originals floating around and just a small percentage of repops. Terry is correct, there's alot of fake Ford stuff floating around not only badges, but Shenango china, postcards, rulers, and a myriad of other things. As a collector of Ford Memorbilia... I second a forum for Ford Collectibles! Chances are the ones at the Ford museum were originals.. They're finding stuff all the time during clean outs. I recall a story that back in the 50s you could get a NOS Model A Instruction Book for free by sending a SASE. Evidently Ford found a stash of them in some office.

  22. I own a repair & restoration shop specializing in pre 1965 vehicles... I also do a bit of professional photography. With three kids at home, ya gotta work long hours- but I enjoy the work.

I haven't personally entered anything in AACA judging in a while, but several cars I've done for customers have been entered.
