Any stripping out a 1939 Comm or President?
rbk replied to rbk's topic in Studebaker, Erskine & Rockne
A remote is the latch behind the inside door handle under the door panel with a shaft sticking through the door panel to attach the inside door handle through. -
I am looking for all interior doorhandles and remotes for a 1939 4 door Comm. PM me if you can help out.

Can someone post a picture of the front 1937 license plate bracket. I have many brackets without part numbers. If I have a picture , maybe I have one in that box. PM me if you are looking for other brackets.

Sorry I have not been on this forum for awhile. I do not know how to polarize your generator. I will have to study that generator number you gave. Maybe someone on this forum can pitch in and help. -

I believe that a 1936 Dictator has a voltage regulator. What is the number on the tag of your generator. 1934 was the last year for a cutout , so maybe someone put an older generator on your car. Again I did not research this but the generator tag will help. -

Are you sure that you are hooking the battery up correctly. Unless someone messed with it it should be positive ground. Did you polerize the generator ?. https://forum.studebakerdriversclub.com/forum/your-studebaker-forum/tech-talk/62519-polarizing-the-generator https://studebaker-info.org/text3/polarizing.html -
There was a thread on this previously and the poster suggested a coupling sold by McMaster Carr that he was able to use. Then I noticed that you use the term "dynamo" so you must be overseas. I will try to find the old post. Here it is:

Fram made these for different manufacturers and aftermarket. The one I posted was supplied for factory installation by Studebaker and Studebaker ordered them with their label installed or installed the decal themselves. The aftermarket units were probably sold with the octagon decal. I believe I still have a N.O.S. unit with no decals at all , if anyone needs one. These used the very difficult to find C1 cartridges. Jerry Kurtz made adapters to fit a small spin on filter inside this housing. I still have a few C1 cartridges for sale. Robert Kapteyn

That is a rubber rain boot.He left one on and took the other off. Those were quite common in those days made of thin latex like rubber. I used those in the fifties.
