  1. Superweld in Farmingdale specializes in this type of repair. Superweld Co Inc 111 Gazza Boulevard Farmingdale, NY 11735-1415 (631) 694-7989
  2. Only the Olympic model was built mostly by Reo. So the only Reo to share Franklin parts is the 1933-34 Flying Cloud.
  3. Chrysler didn't use welded spokes as far as I know. At least the wheels on my Plymouth aren't welded.
  4. I believe the 1932 Devaux convertible used the same body as the Reo Flying Cloud, the Franklin Olympic, and the Marmon small eight. Not many of any of these.
  5. I show the Tucker movie every year to my eighth grade technology class. Some kids like it, most hate it, but I never get tired of seeing it. It's historically very accurate, and the details that George Lucas and Francis Ford Copola put into it are amazing.
  6. On second thought, it might be earlier, like a Chrysler model 50 or Maxwell.
  7. Most hood doors of this era are opened and closed manually. There is usually a wire spring that snaps them open or closed. I will try to get a photo of the springs on the hood doors of my Franklin.
  8. Except for the engine, grill and hood, and hubcaps, the entire car is identical.
  9. That looks like too much fun. I always miss the High-Wheeler race, but next year dad and I are bringing the Sears to compete. It's a real ball of fire on the road.
  10. I found this one at Hershey on Thursday for $25. I was going to stop by and show it to you, but I was afraid you'd shoot at me or something. I would not be against loaning one out to be copied. Perhaps Verdone in PA could cast you one out of stainless.
  11. 1928 Franklin gas tank : eBay Motors (item 390248925350 end time Oct-12-10 18:47:37 PDT)
  12. 1928 Franklin spare tire rim: eBay Motors (item 390246728032 end time Oct-07-10 10:13:38 PDT) Do you have any tank at all? If so, I can help you to get it fixed I work in Port Jefferson, perhaps I can stop by one day and take a look. Do you belong to the Franklin Club?
  13. There is a guy in NC parting out a '28. The picture shows that there is a tank in the car. How bad is the tank you have? If you have one, they can usually be saved. Where on LI are you? My father and I have four Franklins. We will have two of them at the AACA show in Riverhead tomorrow.
  14. I know of a Fox sedan in Pennsylvania. It's a neat car.
  15. I can bring this to Hershey if somebody wants it.
  16. Definitely 1934 Chevy. This is what it looked like before it was buried.
  17. Yes, those are the studs i need. Apparently they are no longer available new from any source. A local friend is trying to track down a set for me, but so for he's coming up short. I knew the nuts would be hard to find, but I thought the studs would be easy.
  18. Got the nuts today. Thanks John! You're a true gentleman.
