  1. When I bought my first antique car in 2000 (1932 Franklin), I called the firm that my father had been using for antique car insurance since 1960. They would not write me a policy because I was too young. I was 26. I called Hagerty, and they now have a customer for life. Great people!

  3. I would ask for a picture. As you said, there is no way they can fit from 1920-34.

  7. I knew that fabric looked familiar.
  8. Ironically, I had a radiator shell done this year in Metro New York for a very low price ($350). Home | nassauchrome.com
  9. I wonder if that upholstery fabric is correct for an Australian car? Looks like my sofa.
  10. My Franklin uses one of these. They are available from NAPA, but they've gotten very expensive. Last I checked they were about $130. I bought a 6V Optima battery instead. It's so much better it's ridiculous. The car starts better, the lights are brighter, horn is louder, etc.. The Optima only weighs 18lbs and can not leak. $125 online.
  11. I have a manual. I would be happy to scan and email you any part of it.
  12. I have a Carter BB1 on my PA. Not original, but easy to find and very reliable. It's original for the '32 PB.
  13. Here is the dissertation on oil from the PA manual.
  14. I have driven my PA many miles at 50mph. It is a very comfortable speed for the car. I once floored it for a few seconds and it hit 70. The brakes are also very competent at 50mph. The '29 Plymouth is a different animal, and probably would be more comfortable at 40-45. I have also driven my Franklin many thousands of miles at 55mph with no problems. If the engine is in good condition, it can be driven!
  15. Got my Trek notice this week. I don't know that there is a manual for the speedometer.
  16. I have a pair of Pilot Rays that came off my grandfather's 1930 Lincoln. Is there a way to tell if they are originals or reproductions from Don Sommer? The car was restored in the late 60s, and the lights were probably on the car since then. These lights are in very nice condition. Any clue as to what they might be worth?
  17. I have the manual right in front of me. It clearly shows a negative ground. It's possible that the ammeter is wired backwards, or the car is actually discharging.
