  1. Call this guy, WiperMan.COM - Wipers, Wipers, Wipers He can help.
  2. I really don't think that interest in Pre-War cars has waned at all. It's just that we are now outnumbered by post war cars simply because car were only built for about 40 years before the war, and it's been over 60 years since the war. Not to mention the fact that cars have been built in much higher numbers every year since. I do see clubs like AACA dividing in the future, although I hope that doesn't happen. There's room for everyone.
  3. Bob, Nobody likes that really old crap anymore. So if anyone has any of those slow and unreliable old clunkers, I'll do you a favor and take them off your hands, for a small fee or course.
  4. Any Chrysler product from 1932 is going to be superior to almost anything else from that era. They were outstanding cars. The only weakness that I know of is with the four-speed transmissions that some models had. Parts availability here in the US is ok, but not as easy as it is with Fords and Chevys. However, the superiority of the car makes up for that. While there may be no parts in your country, as long as UPS or Fedex goes there, I don't see what the problem is.
  5. Rare Parts may have one. If not they can make it. Of course this would require some money. Steering & Suspension, All American Cars, Import Cars, Off Road and Trucks | RareParts.com
  6. I don't see a vent on the driver's side, just the filler pipe. Mine has both also. To answer your original question, my car has only the glass bowl on the fuel pump for a filter, and I believe there is a fine screen at the top of it. That should be all you need.
  7. The same body was also used on the Plymouth PB. The other horn is visible, but the trumpet is missing. Definitely a '32. My dad had one just like it. He's sorry he let it go.
  8. What's wrong with the old hubs? What kind of car?
  9. Does the 30U have a fuel pump or a vacuum tank?
  10. I have a Carter BB-1 on my PA and it runs great. I also have the original carb in a box somewhere. I understand that the are troublesome, but I have never had it on the car, so I really can't say.
  11. Panel Trucks are neat and scarce. There are many really rotten and worn out pickups out there. Why not buy a pickup parts truck and restore the panel to original?
  12. My 1932 PA Plymouth was registered by the engine number, always was. It was sold new in NY, and that's the way it's always been titled. Maybe you could get away with it in PA, just take a rubbing of the engine number. The VIN plate would be stamped with the same type of stamp, not raised numbers like the DMV is expecting.
  13. Does anyone else have one of these? It's about twice the size of a gas pump globe. It's double sided and glass with a steel shell. My dad got it in the 60s. Can anyone tell me anything about it?
  14. Actually, we flew out to IL in Feb to look at this car, but we were very disappointed in the quality of the restoration. It's still for sale as far as I know. It wasn't bad for the money, but it wasn't for us.
  15. The best car ever made was the Franklin because I have two and I like them. So there! :D
  16. Where are you located? I have a shop here in NY that specializes in welding cracked blocks.
  17. I've already asked Santa for the Series 8 many times with no luck. That one is the final Franklin to round out my almost perfect Franklin collection (counting Dad's cars). (I already have the Olympic convertible, just hope I finish it someday. Maybe I should ask for elves too.)
  18. West, Are you aware of this guy: VW Parts, VW Diesel Parts, VW TDI Parts @ Parts Place Inc. They are super-useful to owners of old VWs.
  19. German car dealerships are pretty good about stuff like that. Of course, I haven't owned a VW in about 10 years, but when I did they had most things for my '82 Vanagon. I had an '84 BMW at the same time, and parts availability and pricing from the dealer was excellent. Just don't walk in and say, "Audi!"
  20. I'd like a 1948-50 Willys Jeepster. I don't know why, but recently I've had a hankering for one.
