  1. Why is it called a rocker panel anyway? I've always wondered.
  2. The fiction wheel in my dad's Sears is original. He's been driving it for 40 years. It's 100 years old. I would say that's pretty good durability.
  3. Dan, I spoke to Jeff a few weeks ago, and he says he can make them. I don't know how many would sell though.
  4. My dad's all-original 1923 Franklin has hidem. His 1910-12 Sears does not.
  5. When I bought my Franklin convertible, the ad said, "very rare and seldom seen." It also said, "not a Ford." Hmm
  6. If this were a car, the pump, compressor, engine thingy, would be right up the drivers behind.
  7. I didn't look at the link. Those are horrible colors.
  8. When we moved to a new town in 1982, my dad and I noticed a nice 1968 Barracuda convertible sitting in a driveway around the corner. It had a 340 and a 4-speed, and was in very nice condition. We knocked at the door, and an older lady told us it belonged to her son, and he was going to fix it up some day. I made several more inquiries about the car over the years as I grew up, but the answer was always the same. Now, almost thirty years later, the car is still sitting in the exact same spot. The old lady must be in her 90s. I don't live in that town anymore, but I sometimes pass by. It's now covered by a blue plastic tarp, which occasionally rots away or blows off, and is now rotten beyond repair and worthless other than for parts. Makes me sad.
  9. My Plymouth is Brown and cream and it's wearing it's factory paint job.
  10. Try Clark's Corvair Parts. Clark's Corvair Parts - Clark's Corvair - Clarks Corvair Parts
  11. Corvair thermostats are very similar, especially the 1960 version. They are available new and relatively cheap.
  12. Not sure if I would call this aftermarket. Franklins used them as original equipment in the 20s, and so did Lincoln. I'm sure others did as well.
  13. There are available new. www.oldmoparts.com

    drill bits

I found that DeWalt brand drill bits drill well through stainless steel.

    Air pump

My father's 1910 Sears has the same wrench for removing the wheels.
  16. The mirror in #7 is an aftermarket item. I have two of them on my Plymouth.
  17. Progress is very slow. I have the new brakes installed, and I managed to polish a spot on the door.
  18. I have these two pieces for a Chrysler. I'm not sure exactly which year or model they are for. My grandfather had a 1933 CL and a 1931 CD8. The "8" badge does not seem to go with the crank hole cover. Are they of any interest or use to you?

  20. Only the Olympic model was built mostly by Reo. So the only Reo to share Franklin parts is the 1933-34 Flying Cloud.
  21. Chrysler didn't use welded spokes as far as I know. At least the wheels on my Plymouth aren't welded.
  22. I believe the 1932 Devaux convertible used the same body as the Reo Flying Cloud, the Franklin Olympic, and the Marmon small eight. Not many of any of these.
