FWIW, our '65 Coronet was stolen three times and we got it back. The first time it was stolen it was repainted and used as a taxi; we found it and the insurance company painted it back to normal.

I read that the spray-on chrome process is essentially the same as mirror-silvering. I suspect the area needs to be kept wet for a while so the silver content of the coating doesn't tarnish.

The '51 Plymouth wagon may have been run through a big-name auction (probably Mecum) in the past couple of years. The paint treatment is very distinctive.

Barry, Best wishes for a speedy recovery to you and your wife. The crashworthy design of your Lincoln was decades ahead of its time.

I'll keep my eyes open for it here in Jersey. The car was a victim of the GM 'easy-steal' steering column lock used for many years. Every punk knew how to break one of those with a screwdriver. There should have been a class action lawsuit.....

The place has been talked-up all over the internet lately. Good move...betcha they get a lot more business now!
