  1. The part number is P56038933AB and it came from an '01 Cherokee. It fits a huge number of Jeeps, trucks, vans, and cars from the mid 1980's to the early 2000's. It's in very nice cosmetic condition but the faceplate has a small curl to it (visible in picture). The previous owner said it worked fine when removed but I have no way to test it so am selling as-is. Let me know the kind of vehicle you have and I'll check to see if this radio will fit it. $30.00 postpaid in USA. Harold
  2. I've found the same thing. I post on whatever classified bulletin board caters to the type of stuff I'm listing. I've had people contact me on ads I posted several years prior and buy the item if I still had it. Do you have any niche websites you'd care to share?
  3. I once wired a relay into a Dodge Shadow so that the only way the car would crank is if the cigarette lighter was pushed in. Nobody ever tried to steal the car, but it did provide peace-of-mind.
  4. I had a '63 and like the styling and the way it drove, but mechanically the car was very unreliable and needed repairs seemingly every other week. At one point it needed a water pump and several local shops declined the job because it was too much work. My father and I replaced the pump ourselves.
  5. Back in the seventies one of my college professors had his fairly-new car repaired and repainted in the local automotive high school. The results were very nice.
  6. Here's an interesting piece of automotive history. It's the 1959 Ford Motor Company annual stockholders' report. In addition to the financial data, there is a multi-page article on the development of the Falcon and Comet illustrated with many rare factory photographs. My late uncle was a Ford stockholder back then and he received the report in the mail. The cover is somewhat worn but the interior pages are nice. $15.00 postpaid in USA. USPS money orders or PayPal are welcome. Harold
  7. There were issues with aftermarket fuel pumps where the pivot pins were backing out of the pump so there wasn't any pumping action. If you have a sealer in your gas tank it is possible that it's flaking off and clogging the fuel line.
  8. I punched the buyer's phone number into the search box on Craigslist and his other ads appeared. Sometimes you have to enter the phone number in several formats to cover all the bases (for example (123) 456-7890, 123-456-7890, and 1234567890). In this case, the way he entered it in his reply is the same as he lists it in his ads. I also punch phone numbers right into Google. You get all the reverse-lookup sites listed, and other websites also show up with useful information.
  9. Today's adventure: I listed our 2001 Taurus on the local Craigslist yesterday for $1,450.00. My ads state that I don't do email replies and to send your phone number so I can call you back. I got a response fairly quickly, and, as I usually do, checked the phone number online to find out any background on the prospect. Lo and behold, he's a flipper. I told my wife I don't want to respond because we're heading down 'low ball alley' and it will be a waste of time. She insisted so I went through the motions and showed him the car. His number was $800.00, exactly as I predicted. Needless to say, the car is still here. The upside to this episode is that my wife agreed to not press me to call back on inquiries that are either bogus or a flipper.
  10. Ebay casts a big shadow and it's tough for other websites to grow because of it.
  11. One ad is from a 'help-you-sell broker?...............
  12. So where do you advertise to avoid bottom feeders without paying a lot for the ad?
