  1. Hmm, Did I forget the price?? How about 89,900 cash money, green American Dollars... Works for me!
  2. I have two of them I will sell.. Both are the coupes. Both do run.. Both have California Titles. No, they are not pretty, no you can not drive them home. But BOTH have been driven here in California to car shows and other events. Dont know what a Trabant is??? Look it up online... Be the ONLY one in the car show to have a Trabant to show........ The early body style like these have become a sought after collectible... In Europe... But I have them here. Yes, these are the stinky 2-stroke cardboard-car that was built in the former East Germany. Dont call them Russian, the Easterner's were defenders of the fact that these were GERMAN built cars...... I will take 2000 each for them.. Great car for your collection.. Fun car to run around town in. Parts are available. Think of it as the modern model T .............. I have three and will be keeping one for myself.
  3. Susan makes a good point.. AACA wants folks with old cars to come out and enjoy the old cars.. QUITE different than some other groups... I really do not like to explain when asked why I do not want to take a car to a Co******e or a Classic C***y event. MUCH more fun to dust off the Willys Aero and drive out to an AACA event.
  4. Are there any cars FOR SALE that will qualify for the London-Brighton event? Must be built prior to January 1905. Must be a documented original. What is out there?
  5. If a couple of cars are real close in your scoring.... Time to look closer to details like date codes. Since the glass codes are easy to see, that is where I go first to narrow down the top car... BUT if you are at a show for a specfic marquis... Well ya best have it correct or be blasted out of the park.
  6. HA! Well lemme tell ya a story……… I have judged at several different shows sanctioned by different well known and respected groups. Many seem to have taken the AACA guidelines and modified them to suit… This is fine, but in many cases, absolute authenticity is not the issue. This is OK, by me as long as I know what I am supposed to be judging… However, I have been on teams where as we approached a car we were told by our team leader that this car was “well known” to be one of the finest examples, perfect match quality resto job, yadayadayada……… So before we even LOOK CLOSE, we are kind of spoiled to the fact that it may be a bunch of hooey that we were just given.. But the damage was done… And the team judges were tainted… This really does happen… So be careful about what is said and what you accept as truth when judging. Way to many “experts” get in the way of actual originality.
  7. Restored following its appearance in “Peggy Sue Got Married” staring Nicholas Cage and Kathleen Turner. This is the blue 58 Chevy by Nicholas Cage through most of the movie. <O:p</O:p Driven little and maintained properly, the car is a high quality Impala. 11300 on the odometer since restored. Super Turbo Thrust V-8 348ci, 280 HP 3X2 bl carbs with original aircleaner. Engine runs great. Turbo-Glide now changed to a Powerglide. P/S, P/W, dual antennas, WonderBar, rear speaker switch, Padded Dash, Spinners. Photos available as requested. Inspections welcomed. <O:p</O:p One of the finest investment quality 58 Impala convertibles anywhere.
  8. I have three of these cars.. At one time I had FIVE of them. Of the three I still have are TWO P-50 coupes and one 601 Stationwagon. The wagon is driven frequently. The P-50s both have been languishing outside for a few years. I did at one time drive all of them.. But I have more than 50 cars and no time for any of my own.. I am so busy with client's collector cars, I have no time for my own cars.. So, I would like to find a home for the two P-50 Trabi's. One was a "restored" car when I bought it from East Germany, the other was just a "driver" needing restoration. I am in northern California email me at funcars4us@hotmail.com
  9. I was at John Morris place in OREGON on Saturday. He has a pair of nice 57 fenders... Yes long way from you, but nice sheetmetal.
  10. Did you decide to buy the Cadillac?
  11. Restored car. very High Quality car in every respect. Correct 348 with correct 3X2s and original air cleaner. Power steering and power windows. Padded Dash, rear speaker fader on the Wonderbar radio. White car. THIS WAS THE ACTUAL CAR that appeared in the movie Peggy Sue Got Married. It was BLUE in the movie. After the movie it was restored to the condition it is now in. NOT CHEAP... Looking for offers around 90,000.
  12. hello---------- anyone home????? Well here is what I did, bottom dash trim is now chrome, MADE new Choke and Spark Knobs and had the letters put on in a recessed manner, yes wrong, should be raised, but it is done.. Painting the windshield inserts black.
  13. I will post more photos later... Want to do some clean up and inspection first. I did find that the car is known by the Pierce Arrow Society, it seems the family that has had it for the past 55 years did report it way back when they bought the car. But the history is missing. Too bad... The car JUST made it out of the garage door...
  14. Thnaks for all the help so far.. Seats are simillar to school bus stuff... VERY close matter of fact. Round tube with flat foam bases.. Yes, one of the Power Wagon website contacts can make them for about 350 each. There are 4 seats, two are close to the same size, the other two are each different. I also need a pair of the front drive hub to axle plates.
  15. SGF Trucking PO Box 4053 Vallejo 94591 Sergio Cell 707-315-8555 Home 707 655-1445 fax 707 980 7472 He runs east to west southern route. OPEN Only. I have used him and recommended him MANY times.
  16. Thanks! I have all the I.D. numbers.. Just wanted to see if anyone is out there first. email on the way!!!
  17. WOW! Not much action on the Pierce Arrow section. Anyone have any idea how to find some history on this car? Monogram on the rear doors has intials WSF Engine Number 1004
  18. Brake drums complete with hubs. A GOOD set of wire wheels, including a working set of hub nuts and the correct hub-lock-release wrench. I have seen rolling chassis on eBay that would have it all... Seems they go for at least 2000 of course all needing restoration. I would expect a nice set of six wire wheels to be 2000, so rolling chassis for 2000 is probably OK. Rod
  19. I just sent him a link to this posting. But here is his email address. thedinkfromuranus@hotmail.com Good Luck! Rod
  20. HA! This is always the same problem.... Many of us have the paint codes but these do not translate to the new paint materials. I KNOW there are guys that have played with colors and been able to get very close to correct..... NOW if ONLY they would share the information with us all..... Wouldn’t that be nice???? Problem is too many "judges" look at colors and decide that since it does not look like their buddies car, it must be wrong, so no one wins... How about some of the class judges out there get on some program whereby they poll owners and members to see what paint formulas they can come up with to help us all out?? I was recently at a very "high end" show where there was a 1948 Cadillac in one of the dark blue metallic colors.. I looked CLOSE at the car because I have one I am restoring. The suspect car had large metallics in it... NO WAY was it even close to ANY of the samples I have been mixing and comparing to some of the original paint found on the car in my shop OR on any of the original 1948 color chips I have... But the judges gave it a best of class..... OH YES, I forgot, the car was owned by a buddy of one two of the class judges... oops..
  21. OK, that makes it easier. I have the parts. I will check the lock-set and gear to be sure it functions OK.. If possible, email me at funcars4us@hotmail.com I will then mail to you photos of my parts. Regards, Rod
  22. I have ONE... But I need to check out in the storage container to see if I have any other right sides... This ONE is kinda beat up. Threads are fine, just looks like someone tried to remove the chrome plating with a sander, AFTER they beat it up with a hammer trying to remove it. Some guys have no clue how to unlock these and remove correctly.
  23. John Morris - Oregon. He is on the Cad LaSalle board. Not sure if he is on the AACA board
  24. 640 Series phaeton. Dash bottom trim.. What is the proper finish? Is it supposed to match the surrounds of the gauges? Windshield base relief areas front and back. Body color? or was it customer option? Would they have been painted from the factory? Park Brake handle. Finish?
  25. Henry does not have them. Easy to machine them without the lettering.. But sure would like to have them correct.
