Un-plug the wire and slip a piece of shrink tube over the exposed wire and up into the steering box a little where it exits the box and heat the part you can get at.
Huh.....my recently purchased 56 Suburban with the 2 speed power flight tries to move forward slightly while in neutral and won't shift into 2nd. Just a linkage adjustment maybe and not an internal problem ?
This setup was used on larger Dodge trucks and I think that port was used for vacuum assist brakes or a 2 speed rear end. The vac advance could be operated from one or maybe both carbs.
