  4. I got a spare set of the headlight reflectors and want to get them re-plated. I can't find any contact info for the Uvira Plating service. Anyone have it ? Thanks !
  5. Looks like a '39 Huckster.
  6. How much are you asking for the grill guard ?
  7. When I got this car years ago it came with sealed beam conversions on it. UGLY !!! I've been searching for years for the original parts to no avail so I could put it back to stock but so far all I've found were the old lenses. I started thinking the other day,,,,Hey...maybe if I remove the outer rims on the conversion kits the original bulbous lenses would fit and be retained by the headlight trim rings. Well...Gaawlee !!! (Jim Neighbors style) It worked and will fool the untrained eye. Yahoo ! My search is over.
  8. Well, I would describe them as ...............BIG AND BEAUTIFUL !!!.........from every angle.
  9. Could you have installed your new thermostat upside down ? The spring goes down towards the block.
  10. The head on my 39 Chrysler had that medallion staked to it when I got the car. Not sure how many years they used that medallion or even if it's a factory head for my car.
  11. My wife I did notice that the car had an easier time climbing the hills around here on the way to town the other day. No down shifting where I had to before. Now I'm thinking I'll mill the original head with the Chrysler medallion riveted to it to -.80. I've heard they can be milled even more but I don't want to push it.
  12. Steele Rupper Products is the best.
  13. I've been very happy over the years with both of these companies. www.riwire.com and ynzyesterdaysparts.com
  14. Today I installed a Spitfire head on the '39 Royal. The average compression reading on the original head was 92psi. With this new head milled .050 the compression has gone up 13% to an average of 104psi. Anyone know what the higher reading did to the original 6.5 compression ratio ?
  15. I give up !!!! I could have sworn I saw a listing for repro black or brown '39 Chrysler floor mats just before I took delivery of my '39 and discovered that the previous owner had butchered his. Anyone here have a link ? Here's my butchered reproduction that came in the car.
  16. OK, so the illustrator of the brochure I posted took a lot of artistic liberties with the paint scheme then eh ?
  17. Most of my other L6's were painted silver at the factory except my '33 Plym which was black with a silver head. Was the '39 all silver except the gen.,and starter, and a few other tid bits ? This rendering shows the oil pan black and the head blue. Was this how they were painted ?
  18. I wonder if aluminum foul with the shiny side out might work too....or some of this here chrome tape.
  19. I took my recently purchased '39 Windsor out for a first night time drive. Oops.....the headlights are very dim even on the high beam setting. What's a cure, besides cleaning all connections, for this besides converting to 12 volt ? This car is turning out to be such a good driver that I'd like to use it at night too. Anyone have a sure fire cure ? Thanks, Reg
  20. OK, I'm interested. I wondered if you have a way to give it a compression test ? If it has fairly decent readings I'm a buyer. Thanks, Reg Evans
