  1. Gee....thanks guys........didn't even know what my number was............nothing but fun here..............And according to Steve M " I'm now immune from suspension and time outs." Thanks Steve!😝
  2. AJ & Tom all dressed up for dinner..........Hell how "great" can it be with those two driving in it? 🙄
  3. Ask and you shall receive. Here they are..........video!
  4. Phil and I just spent six hours pulling the wheels off the Custom Dietrich Packard to clean the white walls and spokes.........BIG BUMMER!
  5. I'm grateful someone is willing to do a project today. Having done a hundred or more over the years, I can assure you he isn't getting rich on it and in fact is probably running in the red regardless of how many he sells......been there, done that. Making a cap that works, in proper material, and available is what is important. Numbering them is a nice detail........but I bet only one in fifty people would pay the preumuim for the numbers. Let's face it...........most of the cars that they fit are in the lower range of value. Duesenberg caps are available but in modern materials and in an "off" color. Since it's that or nothing.....they live with the reasonable reproduction.......on tours and the snowfield at Pebble. Caps look great......and it's an impressive project. Bravo!
  6. Unless you show us the invoice....we won't believe it! Congratulations.....fabulous car.
  7. They were common back in the day from 1935-1955 not sure if they helped, or even if they were a good idea. Many worked like a knee action shock with springs and a dampener. I have seen a few over the years.....none going down the road.
  8. Hi, I need a diagram for the magneto and ignition switch........photos/diagrams/what have you. Looks like I will need some components as what is here on hand certainly isn't correct. Thanks, Ed. PS- Owner is shy.....doesn't want photos of his car or name tossed around. Otherwise I would post photos. Thanks, Ed I need Bosch info, not Rushmore.
  9. I’ll see if I can find the photo of the crates coming off the ship using a swinging crane and a steam powered turn style head. Just slips three inch jute rope around the head and use it as a clutch……if it doesn’t kill you it works great.
  10. The trailer is a Covered Wagon of about 1937.
  11. The Pierce club has a national meet every August at the museum. Most of the member museums have a corresponding national once a year.............if you go, always try for one of the dates for national meets.....you will see another bunch of cars on the field.
  12. The reason the early 12 isn't known is two fold........the Packard Twin Six came out earlier and after all was a Packard product.......the Weidely was being offered to assembled cars during the ugly days of WW1, when car production was way down and the prestige of the available engine was just about zero when you look at who was using it. The little I know about them is from conversations with some "in the know" nickel guys that are all now no longer with us..........mostly I just remember them saying it was an under powered truck engine..........their words, not mine. Having never driven one, I can't offer a fair opinion.
  13. By the way, I know somebody who’s looking for a HAL 12 if there is one available. He’s been asking me for about five years.
  14. Terry, you are correct. It’s a big ugly thing. I had a chance to play with it probably 20 years ago. I would like to make a few more comments but they would get me in trouble so I will hold them back
  15. Today on the field. Current owner in his 80’s saw the car at age 11 and wait d 45 years for the owner to sell it. He didn’t hesitate.
