Help with 1927 Dodge Brothers Sedan
nearchoclatetown replied to Bob27's topic in Dodge & Dodge Brothers
There's a copper tube on the laft front of the oil pan that's attached to the oil pump. Loosen it to drain the oil. There's a screen inside the 2 bolt flange that should be cleaned in solvent, it's the only filter. Head gaskets can be obtained from most all gasket dealers or teh regular DB parts guys. -

DAve Moon, your reponse was predictable. You are one of the many that wasn't even there, but you have all the answers to fix the show. I suggest next Oct. you and the others that know how to put on the perfect show rent or buy a few thousand acres, pave it of course, get hotel accomodations from $10 flophouses to $1000 premieum hotels, for 100,000, provide food that doesn't cost too much, bathrooms with diaper shelves that are free. Now arrange the flea market by car brand and position these that everyone with multiple brands can have THEIR own brands adjacent so they don't have to walk far.Parking should be free and right in the middle of everything for everyone. MAke sure they don't have to actually DRIVE cars onto the show field, paved and level of course. Let me know how it works out because i'll be at Hershey. The people that are SUPPOSED to fix things are doing just that. -

I think after almost a month of complaining all the stupid comments would have been made but you nitwits still amaze me!! Please lock this and all other crybaby threads NOW. HERCO, Hershey, Hershey Co., etc. does NOT need AACA and the fall meet. Peter I would think as a board member you would know this!! Lock this thread NOW before you do any more damage. -

I've never seen a magneto setup like that, don't think it's official DB. I've seen that type of mag on International tractors, I think maybe Wico brand. Post the pics down on the DB section, maybe someone can help you there. -

Sounds like you have an older engine. IS there a large hoel on driver's side of bell housing for starter? Probably not. WHat brand is the mag? iS it attached to the waterpump shaft. Pics would be a good thing, but I don't know how. -
Help with 1927 Dodge Brothers Sedan
nearchoclatetown replied to Bob27's topic in Dodge & Dodge Brothers
That serial number would put it late July '27. Preheated air is drawn over the exhaust then goes to the back of the carb. Hit Ebay, there's usually a few on there, Detroit-Lubricator. A '27 has seperate starter generator. Where is the magneto located? Sounds like you have a conglomerant of parts. IS the carb on the passenger side or driver's side? -
I THINK it was '22 to '27.

1933 [edit] DODGE - need a few things.
nearchoclatetown replied to doug77's topic in Dodge & Dodge Brothers
You may want to go up to the top of this page to "resources", "library" and "online catelog", type in 1933 dodge Brothers. There are several publications available.Kim, the librarian, will copy any or all of it and send it to you, on a credit card. It's cheap and beats searching Ebay for originals. If you mention my name she won't charge too much extra. -

Your plan to get it running sounds good, make sure you turn it over enough to get oil pressure up.Search down through the list here to a '39 that was sitting for a long while, it took a few tries but it runs. And he started with a siezed up engine! I know NOTHING about what your handles should look like, my DB knwoledge, what little there is, stops at '27. Sounds like you need to talk to the '33 tech director from the DBC. The club accepts out of state checks for membership.another doug -

If it ran six years ago, it will probably run now. I like that car even more looking at those new pictures. What's the deal with all the bumpers? I see one of the rear bumpers even has the optional Ford towing attachment. Have you contacted or looked at the site of Glen Smith for your interior knobs from down under, maybe New Zealand? His site is vintageandclassicreproductions.com His parts are reproed in Stainless, high quality. If you have something unique he can copy it, but $$. I've never noticed the pointed window winder knobs on a DB in the U.S. Another Doug -

What a good looking sedan. Does it run, drive? If you want to degrease the engine or suspension try the COLD oven cleaner. The instructions say not to use on aluminum, but I've never had any trouble. -

All that hate and no one to blame it on, so sad. -
Ron, if all these crybabies want to whine about something that would be worthwhile. I heard of several people being handed the catelog on Weds., not even knowing what it was for. My wife and a friend bought a catelog weeks ago so My buddy and I could see the cars, early Christmas. When we went Thurs. night I saw a total of 3 other catelogs while walking around. Even we snuck in the side door, carrying the catelog. A friend crashed the auction Friday night, walked right in. I will NEVER give RM a dime of my $$. And I know my wife won't again.

764,000 serial number puts it middle of Aug. 1923. Can you post a picture? Look for a Book of Information on Ebay for 1923 and there's a repair manual that is repoped that sells for about $30.

This is just a thought, but would ANY of you as business owners put up signs if you were selling a program with VERY GOOD maps in them? They give space number and more info then anyone can remember. Should all that be on a sign too? As was said in another post, you guys need a life! -

That is NOT a pumping station, it's the real thing. And believe it or not I can remember the house that use to sit right across the road on the back side of the golf course on the bank.
