  1. Fenders and hood are painted. The green color is washed out on my phone photos…but it’s definitely a rich green. Can’t wait to get the whole truck in this color!
  2. Signs of color…might see some green by the end of the week!
  3. It's going in for exhaust on Sunday. Will likely be done mid week. After I get it back, I'll freshen up the engine compartment a little bit, then take care of any other little things we can. Plus paint correction. This black car needs it bad.
  4. Fenders and interior are in 2K surfacer. Paint is imminent!
  5. Voltage regulator, has happened to me twice on two different cars.
  6. More gray. Rough blocking is done on the fenders and coated in another 2 coats of poly. Rest of the truck is guide coated ready for final block before paint. I have a few things to do inside the trunk before I whip out the color, though.
  7. Might have been a demo or loaner.
  8. Piggins got a 200 mile shake down today. After getting it really warm running down the interstate at 75mph +, it was running a touch rough at idle. So I made an idle mix adjustment and it cleared up. I also forgot that my headlights stopped working, so I had to get home before it got dark. Barely made it before I couldn’t see. It was a loose connection at the firewall…which I’m going to have to pull apart and clean. I nearly breathed on it and the lights came on. But it was a successful run today, and it’s definitely apparent that it needs new tires. Sheesh.
  9. Good call on the screws. Thanks for the tip!
  10. Those covers are peened onto the housings via the pot metal rivet/studs on the back side. I put one back on, and peened it back in place...but I don't trust it. That metal is so soft.
  11. I haven’t done much lately…trying to keep the car in one piece since I need to get it to the exhaust guy when he calls with an open spot. But I did manage to adjust the door glass. Also replaced both vent window regulators. The shafts wanted to walk out when you turned them…like unscrewing themselves out of the housing. It turns out that both of them had fallen apart. These plates were sitting in the bottoms of the doors.
  12. Final poly block is done. Seams sealed. I ran out of self leveling seam sealer for the drip rail…but that should be here tomorrow. Next is primer surfacer. I have a couple little dings I have to take care of first. Why so many primer coats? The polyester primer is actually just a sprayable body filler, and that is why it needs to have this surfacer applied over it before paint. Otherwise the base will soak in to the polyester primer.
  13. I’ll have to look into it.
  14. Typical. LOL. I always travel with a bath towel in a convertible if I get caught in a downpour. It comes in like a shower.
  15. I bought one off Amazon...not impressed so far. I would only use it in a pinch if I can't use a torch.
  16. That's pretty common in the convertibles to have cooked plastic. Thankfully, yours is white, and not some weird off color that needs to be dyed to match. White is easy. Look on any two door LeSabre or Centurion. I think even standard interior Rivieras and Electra 225's have this lower section.
  17. All this does is loop the coolant into this tube...I don't think I've ever noticed a difference with it there or not.
  18. I will likely start on the fenders while this cures.
  19. After many, many hours of blocking, I finally made it around the body shell and hood. Today, I recoated the entire outer shell and hood with another round of polyester primer. Once it cures, I will block it with 180. Then I'll apply two coats of 2K primer surfacer, which acts as kind of a sealer to the poly primer. Then I block again LOL.....then paint!! Pics to follow in the next post. They're on my phone.
