  1. I'm glad you picked up on those smooth fenders too, that is a unique feature for that era car. This photo is marked as a 1917 Pierce - Arrow, and has the common trademark headlights in the fenders. Note that the rear window shape matches that in your original photo.
  2. Please give me first rights on the steering gear, and front axle. I'll send you a PM .
  3. Hi Tim, Welcome to the Forum! That is one BIG car, I believe it is one of two cars that size a Peerless or a Pierce-Arrow. I think you could order a Pierce without the trademark fender mounted headlights, which would make this a rare one.
  4. Sadly he has passed on, I only got to chat with him a year before he left for that big road race track in the clouds.
  5. It is the worlds largest carburetor, keep an eye on scrap cast iron prices, you could be a wealthy man soon.
  6. The photo is up side down, looks like a Schebler.
  7. Evan, Welcome to the Forum, you have a very good eye for automobiles, the 1925 Julian has long been one of my favorites in the Harrah Collection. Years ago there was a full feature in Car Life or Road & Track, back in the late 1960's they would do a road test on a Harrah car. The Julian is a one off so you'll never see another.
  8. All the Allards went through Perry Fina's shop in NYC and had engines installed, then they went on to dealerships.
  9. I've always wondered how badly those Redi-Striped bodies rerusted in the areas that the primer would never reach?
  10. Just saw a 1930 Studebaker with a sweeping rear quarter like that. What size car is it, Model A Ford size or larger?
  11. Yet another great photo! Looks to be a barrel hood Franklin 1908-10 era.
  12. I remember that TV movie with the Jordan, but can't remember the title. I do remember the guy packing up two Duesenberg wheels he'd sold to buy the last missing Jordan part.
  13. Dale, If I was standing in the center of Main Street USA and you drove over me in one I still wouldn't know what it was, could you post a photo.
  14. Rear doors are hinged on the front, handle should be to the rear.
  15. Oh,I thought is was some black cutout of from Daytona or Indy, not an unknown car. Best of luck in your quest.
  16. Have you looked at the dash in a Ford Tri-Motor Airplane?
  17. I sure hope the qualifies me as riding mechanic once the restoration is finished!
  18. I may have one, but don't know what is is. Could you please discribe what The Final 500 SILHOUETTE is?
  19. VERY COOL! I forwarded that to a friend with a welth of information on pre 1915 aeroplane history, hopefully I'll get some race information. That Curtis is sporting "Hi Tech" wheels in place of the skids on the two Wright Flyers.
  20. WOW! Look at all the closed bodied cars on the left, and the one with the odd car cover or rain gear on the front row. That needs to go to someone that car enlarge it. Thanks for posting it!
  21. Look at all those hub bolts! I've never seen a hub with that many bolts, definatly an early truck wheel& tire combination. Coker Tire would give you a good trade in on that I'll bet. Just noticed the hub cover in the first photo that covered the hub bolts, I think REO Trucks used that feature.
  22. I agree, if you have a 1928-29 Model A Ford cowl section see if they match the curve of the side. Could be the filler piece used for comercial bodies that were custom built for tradesmen in the day.
  23. NICE FIND!!!!! The value is in the solid rubber tire not what the wheel came off of. If you can post a closeup of a side view of the hub that should ID the wheel, also the dimentions of the hubcap threads. What brand is the tire?
  24. GREAT question! With 75% of the cars having automatic transmissions it gave your left foot something to do.
