  10. I think I would use a small piece of wood ( 2" x 2" ) and push on the valve or tap it. ???? Bill
  11. Lamar , Pull the valve covers , remove the rocker shafts and compress each valves enough to move it . Then I would reinstall the rockers and hand crank the engine . I've never had trouble with valves unless the engine had sat for a long time with the ports not sealed . Hope this helps . PS I didn't get the 55 century hdtp stick ! He cut the price in half but I wasn't 100 % sure about the remaining work needed . Bill
  12. I think the 42 - 6-7-8-9 is pieced together . The air cleaner is 50 51 52 ( maybe early 49 ), the grille is 47 8 9., The emblem housing over the grille is 47 8 9 The emblem in that housing looks plastic 48 9 ( 47 was metal ). The steering wheel looks dark ( black ) 48 9 The above would be a Special model My 2cents Bill
  13. Thanks for the young man comment , 78 is not young , ask me about my acks and pains LOL Bill
  14. Kev , The Motor Sales Company was a Chrysler / Plymouth for many years in Baltimore City . When their neighbor ( Kelly Buick ) at Charles St & Mt Royal Ave went out of business 55 or 56 , Motor Sale got the franchise and late Pat Hayes took over . My uncle was a salesmen at Kelly Buick from 1949 to their closing . In 1953 at age 11 , my Dad took me to see the new Buicks . Wow , what a treat that was ! On the show room floor was a beautiful black convertible . I never saw that name on a Buick before . It said Roadmaster on the front and back and " SKYLARK " on the sides , What a beautiful car . It took me 25 years to finally own a 1953 Skylark !!! Sorry to run on . Bill
  15. Anyone have info on 55 century's with std trans ? Looking for numbers on 55 66R with std trans . Total production on this model ( 66R ) was over 80,000 and I guess that less then 3 % would have been stick shifts ?????? Bill
  16. This one is not a stick . In 70 , only 3 on the tree was standard , no 4 speeds .
