1. I've posted several of our pictures. Check them out once Peter releases them. Jan K. Wis Region
2. I continue to send to the "old" list until the new one is announced. One copy always goes to National AACA c/o the Smiths, and some of the committee members don't change. I was told that this practice was acceptable and no additional copies need to go to the newest committee members after the fact. Jan K. Wis Region
3. I was lucky to find regular (with 10% ethanol) at $1.68/gallon on my way home yesterday evening. Most of the other stations had already raised prices to $1.79/gallon. I'm almost afraid to see what they're at today! Jan K. Wis Region
4. We missed the Publications seminar this year. Was there an updated newsletter mailing list handed out, or will one be posted here soon? I'll be mailing our February issue soon. Jan K. Wis Region
5. We pulled into our driveway this morning (Monday) at 10:45 a.m. We could have driven all the way through, but called it quits at Elkhart, Indiana yesterday evening. Better to face Chicago traffic with a rested brake foot. We're glad to have the time we had with everyone, but at usual, the time was too short. By the way, the redhead's name is Scott. He's a computer junky, so I suspect he'll have his own DF name before too long. If there were a Junior DF, he'd already be on. (Has this possibility come up or would it be too risky?) I'll have pictures up on our website later this week. http://www.aaca.org/wisconsin --> See, Sal, sometimes I DO remember the link! Jan K. Wis Region
6. It was great to see everyone again in Philly. I appreciate your suggestion to use the Junior site for filler, Judy. As you know from our conversation, I beat you to the punch. I've already included one of the Motor-Goose pages in our January issue of The Beam, and plan to use more as time/space allows. By the way, I've challenged our son Scott to locate some of the content for our next Kid's Page by looking at the Junior Website. I'm interested to learn what strikes a nine-year-old's fancy. Jan K. '59 Metropolitan

I have always wanted to own a Metropolitan. They look like they would be so much fun to drive. JanK

Vern's 1937 Buick

It took me a while to locate the comments section. I'm still trying to figure out this new section. JanK
9. I just uploaded pictures of our cars. The process is simple and quick. Now I can't wait to see what other cars start to show up in this area. Jan K. Wis Region
10. From the album: Member Galleries

This car was a birthday gift from my husband -- a sure guarantee to keep me interested in local and national AACA activities!
11. We'll probably have our son Scott with us again. Please count us as three, not two, for lunch on Friday. Jan K. Wis Region
12. Fran Shore has been busily reading and writing. She gave me several new book reviews for the library website, so I've updated the site once again. Click here: http://www.aaca.org/library to go to the site and then click on "Book Reviews." (We'd rather you came in through the front door because it does nice things to our site counter. ) By the way, if you've read a good automotive-related book lately, why not let the rest of us know about it? Send your reviews to Fran Shore at ShoreinMedia@aol.com. Take a look at the existing book reviews if you're not sure what to include. Jan K. Wis Region
13. We received our cards in December, too. Jan K. Wis Region
14. It's nice to know that it wasn't only me that missed this little feature. Thanks for pointing it out. As if I don't have enough email boxes to check each day! Luckily there weren't too many, and I apologized to the sender. Jan K. Wis Region
15. Loss of plates shouldn't be an issue in Wisconsin since, to my knowledge, car insurance isn't mandatory here. I'll pass this info on to our local region's new president. I'm sure we'll want to show our support for it. Jan K. Wis Region
16. Vern and I are hoping to be there. We'd be interested in an informal meeting of editors. It's amazing what you can learn from casual conversation. Jan K. Wis Region
17. Amphicar, I found the two Amphicar articles we published in the Beam. If you e-mail your snailmail address to me at wraaca@hotmail.com, I'll put them in the mail them to you. Jan K. Wis Region
18. We've added a new book review and an original story by Fran Shore. Take a peek if you have some down time. And if you've read a good car-related book lately, consider writing up a book review of your own! We're always looking for a good read. http://www.aaca.org/library http://www.aaca.org/library/book_reviews.htm Jan K. Wis Region
19. Welcome home, Pat! We truly appreciate all that you and the others are doing for our country. Enjoy your family, your Harley, and getting your hands dirty working on your own projects. And I'm glad to hear that the silliness, controvery and words of support on our DF brought you some comfort and laughter during the worst moments. Modern technology can be a definite blessing at times. Jan K. Wis Region
20. If all goes well, we'll be there again this year. We drove out from Wisconsin last year and plan to try it again this year, weather permitting. Fran Shore asked me to help out at the library table this year. I also plan to attend a seminar or two. If all else fails, look for me in the hospitality room! Jan K. Wis Region
21. Same thing happened to one of our Amphicar-owning members. He was "driving" around on a local lake, minding his own business, when he sees a commotion on the shore. Luckily, in this case it was just the local sheriff and some area residents. The sheriff was quite interested in the car and stayed around to ask a lot of questions. I must admit, his Amphicar is a hit whenever he brings it to a show. His is white and very sea-worthy. Jan K. Wis Region
22. I'm a good proofreader and would be willing to lend my eyes to look over the entries after they've been typed. (I just wish I could learn how to proof my own work better.) Jan K. Wis Region
23. Sal, thanks for posting the link to the tour page. I meant to do that in my original posting. To everyone else, stop in and check out the rest of the library website: http://www.aaca.org/library (If you come in the "front door", it does nice things to our counter!) Jan K. Library Web Editor
24. Thanks, but I'm just the hands. I've got an incredible group of people who are feeding me great content. Jan K. Library Web Editor
