  1. Very hard to find. Horns are hard to get also. Fords are close but not the same. The attached photo of the blue car has a better view of the brackets. That car is restored and maroon color now, but must have lost the correct brackets in the restoration. Black has the original and correct horns and brackets.
  2. Gary The next time if you want to save the work and expense of the flat cap, just buy a RR100 or DR196 cap where the wires come out the top. It was used on the late production 31 president and then used by delco on GM cars into the late 50s. Readily available for 20 bucks. snaps right on. works great, and cheap.
  3. Gary I also see you used ARP studs. Did you use their sealant? I used studs once and had water seepage at each stud. I went to their website and read how the make the threads. They said to use their sealant when a stud goes into water.
  4. Gary In your close up photo of the dist hole, is that a crack in the head?
  5. Here is another frame serial number. It is a sand blasted bare frame that I took a photo before painting. After prime and paint it would not be seen again. It is located just in front of those 4 rivets on the bottom flange, drivers side.
  6. Here is a photo of the frame number on my 32. His should be in this area if not worn or weathered away.
  7. Nicolas Check the left frame rail, drivers side, on the bottom flange, ground side. About in the drivers door area. The serial number might still be there.
  8. Never seen a B on tag before. It has a 30 radiator with shutters in some photos. Maybe late production had a B. Just speculation for now. Ed Princes touring was a late 30 that the factory changed to a 31. I'll have to look at my photos and see what his tag has. Somewhere I have a photo of a FEL-2 with a single digit body number. Maybe that has a B.
  9. Gary I just looked in the only shop manual I had handy. A 1935. Even in that one it tells how to set distributor drive. Look under the oil pump section. The cam drives the pump which drives the distributor.
  10. Gary The 41 manual shows how to set it up. It has a photo but don't go by that, read the text. You are going to have to drop the oil pump to set it up.
  11. Make the race car. It has a lot of history that should be known and displayed. If you want a president touring I have one for sale.
  12. I looked at the photos and it sure looks like Studebaker. The only guy I can think of messing with 25 and 26 was Bob Burk. I remember him telling me about the goofy brakes. He is in Elefredia, Az now. Past ASC president.
  13. Is what you have a race car or are you making one from what you have? The car was originally a touring car. I know where there are touring body parts. I think Dick Quinn took photos of it when we seen it around 2009.
  14. Nicolas Could you post a photo of what you have? If you are thinking of making it the original FEL-2 I know where there is a rear touring tub and 3 doors and one spacer between the doors. That would make the only body metal to be made the one door and spacer. And all the wood. The full size to scale body prints are available from the Studebaker museum.
  15. Ignacio and his dad at my shop putting a 31 roadster together in 4 days.
  16. The "cylinder head was repair and the numbers were erased. For my bad luck without the engine and chassis number I can't enroll it. Will there be a way to identify these numbers? Nicolas the motor number was stamped on 3 areas. The top of the block twice. This is where they get removed when resurfaced. But the other number is on the front of the block under the support plate and should still be there.
  17. Nicolas I have read your other posts and now know what you are working on. I will be glad to help. First do you know Ignacio Antoine in Chille? I sold him a 1931 president roadster last year and helped him on two 1930 president cabriolets. He should have all the motor info I supplied. Contact me at studerex@aol.com for contact info and any info you need. Your motor was cast march 2nd 1930. The body started as a FEL2 president touring and body #6. The B is unknown. Rex Ignacio Antoine J. Gerente General Constructora Alfavial Ltda. Longitudinal Sur Km 683 Oriente Sector Metrenco - Temuco
  18. Have some president motors. What are you working on and what do you need?
  19. Hey Tom, What's the latest on the ASC meet since the SDC has canceled their Chattanooga meet?
  20. Has headlight shields and check out the location of the rear view mirror.
  21. You can check with the Studebaker museum for the body prints. They had them for my 29 and 31. And I've seen many others there. The body prints are full size to scale and will show the wood patterns. Expensive though. The wood was white ash.
