  6. With 160,000 miles the struts and brakes are normal. As "Easily" mentioned the ABS system on '88-90 Reatta could also be a problem although if your red and amber indicator lights are not on steady you should be OK although it is HIGHLY recommended you change all of the brake fluid in the whole system.<BR>I have 14 Reatta parts cars and you found the 2 items I get the most requests for, the IPC and the heater control. new guy questions

Some people like the '88-89 style with the "touch screen" ( CRT ) and some people like the more standard dash of the '90-91s. One of the maybe weak parts in the '88-89s is the CRT although they are easily available, but about equally troublesome in the '90-91s is the instrument panel cluster ( IPC ). The '88-90s had the Teves ABS brakes which have given some trouble but if a person changes the brake fluid ocassionally the chances of having a problem is lessened.<BR> I am in Duluth and have 13 Reatta parts cars and I also have a very nice '91 black/tan 89,000 miles for sale and an '89 red/tan with 79,000 miles for sale. I can be reached at jfinn@computerpro.com

  19. The label with the codes is next to the spare tire on the right side, possibly behind the insulation on '89 and newer. The paint code is on the bottom of the label and on a Reatta is will say basecoat/clearcoat followed by the code. U is for upper and L is for lower. Since all Reattas were one color both codes will be the same. For a white '88 or '89 Reatta the code is WA L/U8554. Take this to the autobody paint store and they can cross reference it to either PPG or Dupont.

    Stuff

I was actually making a joke, referring to all the genuine stuff on ebay, but now, thanks to Padgett, I realize what an FSM is and of course it would have a Reatta script on it. I've now changed my mind and I don't want to buy it and I guess the yolks on me!

    Stuff

I think I would like to buy the FSM, but only if if is a genuine FSM with the Reatta script on it.<BR>What is an FSM, and what is the price?<p>[ 04-19-2002: Message edited by: Jim ]
  25. I re-read a couple of the above posts after I wrote mine and I have to disagree on the quality of the mechanics of the TC's. The running gear in the LeBarons/all Chryslers was very good and is/was quite dependable as is verified by the number of Chryslers of that vintage still on the road today. The 2.5 turbos in the '89s were one or Chryslers better engines and used for many years and the V6 in the '90-91s also was used for many years in all models of Chrysler with very good results. The only weak spot was probably the early V6s had a weak automatic transmission attached to them. It was one of their first electronic transmissions and did give them some problems. As I mentioned in the above post, besides my wife's previous LeBaron convertibles, our family has probable owned 10 LeBarons and had almost no trouble with any of them.
