1. I have purchased 21 Reattas, and currently own 6 good Reattas and 13 Reatta parts cars. We also own one '90 Chrysler TC. It is my wifes car during the summers and she drives one of my high mileage Reattas in the winter. We have owned the car for about 4 years and have had no trouble with it. She had been driving LeBaron convertibles for several years and we purchased the TC because of the distinctive body and the port hole removable hard top and because Reatta convertibles were more that we wanted to spend. We also have several collector cars including a Corvette conv. and a GTO conv. I knew body parts would be hard to find but every junk yard in the area has all the mechanical parts I would ever need, because all of the mechanics are the same as a LeBaron. The TC is far rarer than a Reatta so we will probably keep it for a while although I just bought my first Reatta convertible ( a select 60 ) so that may change because of garage space. The interior, body and mechanics are holding up very well on the TC but the quality is no comparison to a Reatta since the TC is actually a LeBaron with the ride, size and weight of a LeBaron, compared to that of a Reatta. Because it is a LeBaron the prices of nice TC's are currently far lower than a Reatta convertible. The tops on the TC's were a nicer cloth material than the Reatta and the material holds up better than the vinyl on a Reatta but the stitching is starting to come loose at some of the seams, but it can be restitched. The only other repair that needs to be looked at is the top of the dash is curling up a bit and I have seen this on other TC's. We actually get more people asking us what kind of car the TC is than we do the Reatta ( usually LeBaron owners who have never seen the hardtop). From my experience I would recommend buying a TC for anyone who wants a distinctive convertible ( with a hardtop ) for less money than a Reatta convertible.
  2. Most likely the band that pushes up the antenna and pulls it down has broken. Try manually raising or lowerering the mast and if you can move it more than 1/2 inch the band is probably broken. I have 13 Reatta parts cars and have good used antenna assembly available. Yours can also be repaired with a new band. In the mean time remove the connector on the black relay just above the motor and the motor will stop running.
I can be emailed at jfinn@computerpro.com
  3. Riviera is not the same, it is quite a bit larger.

    Seats

The information in the above post is pretty much correct except the the recliner portion on the passenger seat, on the standard seats, was manually operated but on a car with the 16 way drivers seat the recliner on the passenger seat was power operated by a switch on the right side of the passenger seat.

    sun visors 89 coup

I have 13 Reatta parts cars and I think I have some grey and burgundy visors. I can be reached at jfinn@computerpro.com
I have also fixed the visors if the end is floppy and broken internally by removing the mirror and cutting a piece from a plastic jug the same shape as the end of the visor and inserting it under the material. Make sure the edge is cut in a straight line where it meets the mirror and then when you reinstall the mirror the plastic insert will keep the end of the visor up but it will still be flexible and the mirror will keep the insert in place.

  11. The touch screens were one of the weak points in the '88-89 Reattas, which is probably one of the reasons GM went to a more conventional dash for '90. I have 13 Reatta parts cars and will send you an email.
jfinn@computerpro.com

  13. The problem with the headlight switch in the '90 Reatta is that is the only car that used that exact switch. For the years '88, '89, and '91 you could get one out of a Riviera but in '90 the Reatta and Riviera were different and as a result finding a used switch will be very difficult.

    Jacket on e-bay

Say, before you guys get too excited about the jacket, keep in mind I put my genuine Reatta tape dispenser ( completed items #1806366065) on Ebay and I didn't get any bids.
To semm------- Your door panel will go on either FedEx ground or UPS. ( I prefer FedEx ground as they are cheaper and Iv'e never had any damage problems) The door skin in a box is under the 130 inches which is the maximum size. Shipping costs on the door skin would be under $ 15
  16. Hi Noe,
On all my parts cars, several times the seats would not go forward and back, when I got the cars and in 90% of the cases it was the connectors under the seat like Barney says. The connector is a large flat connector and very often corrosion gets on the contacts because on moisture under the seat. Just take the connectors apart and put them back together a couple of times and the seat will probably start working again.

  19. I do have a couple of extra remotes from my parts cars but I don't know what to ask for them. I was going to put them on Ebay along with the other thing I have on there now but thought I would let these run out first before putting additional items on. I will be putting them on within the next month.

  22. Kind of funny jjroverholdings mentioned a stapler. When I saw the emblem on my desk I thought of putting it on my stapler but then I thought someone might bid on it and I really ddn't want to sell it, so I rummaged around in the kitchen junk drawer to find the perfect place to put it.
Where can a person get so many laughs for only 30 cents. ( ebay listing fee )
  23. I thought I would put some of the parts from my several Reatta parts cars on Ebay and see what happens.
The one item I am concerned about though is the Reatta logo tape dispenser. I haven't received any bids on it yet and I don't think people realize this is a one of a kind item. Hopefully someone will want this truly unique piece of memorabilia.
Actually just having a little fun and have received several emails so far from people telling me they enjoyed seeing the ad.
[ 02-20-2002: Message edited by: Jim ]

    Door Handle

The door handles that are being sold at the auto parts business mentioned in the above post are for the '91 Reatta only. When you go to their web site you will notice that the only Reatta listed is the '91. The '88 to '90s used a different handle that has a different casting on the back to hold the switch that feeds the ECM and controls some of the functions of the keyless entry, the alarm and the lights for the car.
