1. Thanks Harry for the info. I thought some were the same and yet I noticed the difference last time I took a tank out of a '90 Riv. We are getting more snow and ice here today but as soon as I get a chance I will get the line out of a '90 Reatta for you. I have one that the front suspension was knocked off so I can't drive that car anyway, so I will pull the line off of it. Jim
2. I also am parting out Reattas and Rivieras and I believe, but am not positive, that the lines coming out of the top of the unit are different between the Reatta and Riv. I think the Reatta lines are metal and about 18 inches long whereas the Riv lines are plastic or rubber with different connectors and about 24 inches long.

A/C compressor

I have several Reatta parts cars and have a good compressor available. I can be reached at jfinn@cpinternet.com I will also send you an email.
4. That part is still available from GM. The part number is 3636896. The retail is about $ 135 but you can probably get it at a discount at your local GM dealer. I recently paid $ 107 for one. GMPartsDirect.com has them for $ 81 but they charge $ 87 for shipping.
5. Thanks, Barney and Wally. I will be sending him the instructions on how to program the remote and will now be able to tell him where to find the connector. Jim
6. I have a very nice fellow who is buying a transmitter from me to use on his '91 Reatta. I know the connector to program the transmitters is located near the EBCM in the trunk on the '89-90s but is the connector still located there on the '91s?
7. I have quite a few Reatta parts cars and have a pretty good grey door panel available for your '90. I can be reached at jfinn@cpinternet.com
8. Come on Jerry give credit where credit is due I am the one who put the genuine Reatta stapler on Ebay back then. I was guite disappointed as I didn't get any bids but all that other fake stuff did. P.S. My wife was at work yesterday so I took the driftwood for a little ride to take some parts to FedEx, she never knew I took it out. again
9. I have several Reatta parts cars and have the coin holder. I can be reached at jfinn@cpinternet.com
10. I did get back home from my trip to Florida and am available for parts. I planned the trip so I could go to the race at Darlington and if Jeff Gordon couldn't win at least Ricky Craven did beat out a Roush car. The race was great but I was disappointed to see most of the Earnhardt and Roush supporters flipping off Gordon every time he was in the lead. On the way home I had trouble with the brakes on the '97 Buick I was driving and would like to thank Bob Coker ( who is a friend of Jack Roush ) for helping me get the car back on the road. Bob also has some Reatta parts cars and can be reached at CokerEsq@aol.com or I can be reached an jfinn@cpinternet.com
11. There is also another one in the Wichita area. It sold at a Copart auction last Monday. I bid on the internet $ 500 and it sold locally for $ 550. It had 200,000 miles and needed a right fender and headlight.
12. Hi Derrick, I sent you an email last Saturday, March 1. I sent it to your hotmail address. I will send it again and/or you can email me at jfinn@cpinternet.com Jim
13. The CD player on ebay is the same one that sold on Feb 26.( ebay # 2404034874 ) The high bidder must have backed out or???. I put a post on this site last Friday or Saturday ( after the auction was over ) telling about my experience at a local salvage yard concerning CD players. The guy at the salvage yard looked in his computer and told me '90-93 Rivieras and '90-91 Reattas were all by themselves and '95 Rivieras were definately different. I then went out into the yard and removed a CD player from a '93 big Olds and the connectors on the back were completely different from a Reatta. The Reatta uses two connectors directly on the unit and the one I removed had two pigtails coming out of the back with two connectors, different than the Reatta, and the wires were different colors. Before I knew that the players were different and during the auction I emailed the seller. I mentioned that I knew he couldn't guarantee it to work in the future but would he guarantee it to at least work when it was shipped to me if I was the high bidder ( I never did bid on it ). His reply was simply that it worked when he removed it. He didn't answer my question. Billbuickgs is also correct in that if your car did not come with a CD your car also does not have the wiring in place to install one. You would also need the front trim panel to finish off the job.
14. I have several Reatta parts cars and have the unit you are look for. I will send you an email or I can be reached at jfinn@cpinternet.com

CD players

Last week there was a CD player on Ebay and the seller stated it came from a '95 Riviera and thought it would work in a Reatta. There was only a picture of the front of the player and it did look like one that would work in a Reatta. Today I was in a large salvage yard and I asked about the interchange on CD players. Acording to their computer '90-93 Riviera was all by itself, and the '95 Rivieras were different. I didn't ask him about Reattas but I know '90-91 Reatta CD's are also the same as the '90-93 Rivs. I then went out into the yard and found a '93 big Buick or Olds ( I don't remember which ) that had a CD player in it. I removed it from the car and found the guy inside was right. On the back of this player the connectors were completely different from the Reatta/Riv players. On a Reatta player there are two connectors directly on the back of the unit and on any other GM CD player there are 2 pigtails sticking out of the rear of the player and then 2, different than the Reatta, connectors. My advice is if you are looking to buy a CD make sure it is compatable with your car. They may look the same on the front but completely different on the rear.
16. The seat covers are interchangeable and actually the seat bottoms are the same. The backs are different because of the hinge arrangement but the bottoms of the seats are drilled and tapped to accept either back. I have several Reatta parts cars and have some nice passenger seats available if you want to replace your drivers seat covers. I can be reached at jfinn@computerpro.com
17. It sound like the receiver either has a bad connection or is defective. The receiver is mounted in the rear area behind the lower panel on the drivers side. I have many Reatta parts cars and have the receiver if you need one. I can be reached and jfinn@cpinternet.com
18. Does anyone know the part number for the belt for the tape player on the '90-91 radios. All of the GM radios with a tape player in those years I think would use the same belt regardless of the radio it was associated with as the tape player mechanism is interchangeable between the lesser quality radios and the better ones like the Reatta use with the equalizer switches. I have as an example 2 radios with the following numbers Radio # 1 P/N 16085374 Ser. 1001489 89ALSA Prod. ID AETR2, Radio # 2P/N 16142094 Ser, 1009857. I have several of the good radios but the tape players don't work and I assume they are like the '88-89 style and need new belts. Can anyone help on the belt number so I can order it from MCM electronics?
19. Last week I traveled to LA and bought the Driftwood convertible from Jerry and drove it back to Minnesota where, when the snow and cold leave, it will be my wifes driver. I took Jerry's word that it was a nice car over the phone, and when I got there it was better than described. Jerry went out of his way to prepare the car for the trip to Minnesota. He changed the oil and filter, added anti-freeze and filled the gas tank. I simply got in and made the trip back with no problems. My son and I had dinner with Jerry that night and it was a real pleasure meeting and dealing with him. I would purchase another car from him in an instant.
20. From my experience it usually is the IPC. I have several Reatta parts cars and have both the IPC and BCM available. I can be reached at jfinn@cpinternet.com

The problem you are having is probably the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) itself. I have several Reatta parts cars and have a good one available. I can be reached at jfinn@cpinternet.com
