I have 14 Reatta parts cars but I also have an '89 Riviera and 2 '90 Rivieras. I keep the Reattas until they are completely stripped but I would like to get rid of the Rivs. There are lots of good parts on them but because of space limitations I will be getting rid of the Rivs in the near future. The evaporator is replaced from the engine side of the firewall. Not an easy job but there is enough room between the firewall and the engine to get the covers off. I have good used evaporators if you need one.

I purchased 3 remotes from Remotes Unlimited and they worked just ok. They seemed to be slower than the originals and it seemed that I had to hold the button down longer and the buttons only had arrows on them insead of the picture symbols like on the originals.<BR>The biggest reason I am adding this post though is the instructions that came with the remotes were completely wrong and not even close to the proper way to program a Reatta or Riviera remote. <BR>The proper way is to ground the green wire/connector next to the ABS computer on the left side inside the trunk. With the key on you then have 30 seconds to complete the proceedure. Upon grounding the connector with the key on the system will lock and then unlock the doors. You then press the unlock button twice waiting about one second in between presses and then do it a second time or do it with a second remote. Remove the ground and your remote/s should work.

Does anyone know which headlamps Reattas came from the factory with? I have several headlamps and am wondering if from the factory the cars came with headlamps that had "Guide" and "halogen" in the middle or did they come with a variety of lamps. Do the judges at judging meets even care? I checked my 14 parts cars the other day and came up with 2 as mentioned above and all the rest were something else.

I have 14 Reatta parts cars and 3 Riviera parts cars and the Riviera light switch will not work on a '90 Reatta. '90 Reatta is a one of a kind although '88-89 Reatta and Riviera are the same and '91 Reatta and Riv are the same. On the '90 Reatta at the bottom of the assembly you have a fog light switch and on the Riv they have a twilight sentinel since the Rivs do not have fog lights. In '91 Reatta moved the fog light switch to the console and then also had twilight sentinel. Used '90 headlight switches are very hard to find. I had a gift certificate at a GM dealership so I bought a new one for my Select 60 just to keep as a spare.

The tan mats had a black background with tan/gold "R" script. I was talking to Daryl Plant the other day and he works at a Buick dealership in Youngstown Ohio. They have a very nice '90 Convertible for sale that has been owned by the dealership since new. I have 14 Reatta parts cars and have motor/regulators available for both doors. The are pretty easy to change by drilling out the factory rivets and replacing them with 1/4 inch bolts where the motor/regulator is attached to the door. I can be reached at jfinn@computerpro.com

I am not sure what is the problem as I am not very familiar with how the radio system works but I have 14 Reatta parts cars and do have a good radio for your '89 if it turns out yours is defective. The radio isn't one of the easier parts to get at but is accessable with a little work. It is located under the console directly below the ashtray. The lenses do get cloudy as someone mentioned but they are easily polished to like new condition with some polishes or I have had very good results using the same buffing compound as I use on the cars paint. It is much easier to polish it on the car than replacing it. If your lens is cracked or broken that is another case. It is very hard to find perfect lenses as most of the time there may be some very small stress cracks in the outer clear lens and also the black portion under the trunk lid gets nicked from people putting things in the trunk. The lenses are a 3 piece but the factory used a pretty good sealer and it quite difficult to take them apart to just replace the outer clear lens.
