  1. Shelby

    clunking sound

Most likely it is the rear brakes. Drive over some rough stuff with your foot on the brake and listen to hear it again. It is a common problem in this era of GM cars with rear disk brakes.
  2. Hey look a used car salesman.
  3. Off road Diesel is $2.78 I just bought a weeks worth, 2567 gallons. $7132.26 Although that seem like a lot. It seems like a bargain when you look at the amount of material we move in a week. Cheap at twice the price but I sure hate to pay it.
  4. Check the serial # I don't think it is a 91 With that body damage and broken tail lense I think this is a $1200-$1500 car
  5. Have you tried cleaning the inside of the cable ends that connect to the battery? The drill is: Remove the cable ends from the battery. Remove the battery bolt from the cable end. Push the plastic cover back and inspect for corrosion on both sides of the copper metal end. Clean and bend the the little divits out to make better contact. Replace the bolt with bolts that are not to long or to short. If you replace the bolts that are to long it will pierce the battery and acid will leak and ruin the battery and the terminals To short and the threads will strip out. Don't over tighted the bolts!!!!!!
  6. Oh if you are looking at the Caterpillar dealer these fit 953C track loader. But the Cat dealer wants $249
  7. The problem I see is that there is not an easy way to check to see if used accumulators are good. And athough a new one is $125 it seems like a reasonable price to pay for a part that will last about 5-10 years.
  8. We just about use Wix filters exclusively. About $3400 in filter per year. Wix make filter for NAPA, CAT and many other manufacturer brands. I think they are very good quality and a lot better price that the CAT dealer for the same filter. Napa are about the same price.
  9. I am with you. I loved my 1944 FDW with Wakesha 600 cid gas engine. Had a magneto with a hand crank when the battery was dead. Take of the air cleaner, scare out the mice and wasps, pour in 1/2 oz of gas. And it would start on one or two turns of the crank. We have a brand new Caterpillar D10T ($978,784) that it took 4 really smart techs from Cat 4 days to get the thing to run for more than 100 ft.
  10. That's mine I just forgot where I parked it.
  11. Cars are made of steel and rubber. Steel rust and rubber rots.
  12. If your engine is missing I would look under the hood. I just had to say it. I think you need a fuel pump.
  13. The juror is still out if you can use R-12 on a New compressor. They will not cover them on warranty if you use R-12 Save the planet convert to R-134.
