  1. I'D rather give it to some one that would do something positive with it rather than send to scrap.!!!! once it goes to scrap it is gone forever.
  2. I haven’t done anything more with the clum switch as yet. It appears the all but one beam on the head light work and I have to put in a new fuse holder. I haven’t had the time to work on it this summer like I planed.
  3. I m' still working on my breaks and I have one drum that had some rust on the inside and I wire brushed out but looks ,like it might come back, What should I use to stop the rust and not bother the shoes.??

  5. this may be of help if you are having troubles with the zoners etc. http://www.narlo.org/
  6. if you get zoning things get out of hand real quick . If you don’t have zoning you don’t want it!!
  7. The BEST ZONING IS NO ZONING!!! CHECK WITH THE STATE LAWS ON ZONING?The locals can get out of hand very fast. My state has a law that if the township adopts a zoning law the electors have 7 days to file a notice to circulate a petition on that matter and will bring it to a vote of the electors. The last time it was brought up in my township it was brought to a vote of the people and was 3 votes short of 3 to 1. The township people got the message the electors dont want zoning !!
  8. This was a car and they cut it and put it back as a truck and the original rear fenders and lights are gone. so some wiring may have been changed. I may give the wd a try ,
  9. I got mine working all but have only one head light beam If take a hot wire and touch it to the lugs on the switch I can get both beams to work ! So I would think something is bad in the switch. I can probably live with it as I wont be doing very much night driving. The Classiccarwiring diagram is different than my car. Thanks for the link I have a couple vehicles that may need one. Mine the light switch is on the bottom of the steering gear box just above the splash pan . Thank you for the reply
  10. Dose any one have a readable wiring diagram for the 1930 Chrysler? The one in my book dosent show much .
  11. Check those new points they may need to be cleaned. Yes new points can oxidised setting on the shelf for a long time !!! Some pictures will help.
  12. There is electronic units you may try . You may find them on ebay or any lawn and garden store should have them . if you get one that work’s on your motor you will never have point troubles. check the coil the points can be good but the coil may not.

  15. How is the oil in the tranny .it takes some driving to get the nack of shifting them,
  16. Where is Rock Valley Ford ? Do you have a rough idea what a tank would cost in stainless? It was around 30 year that I did the gas tank for my 1930 Chrysler ! There wasn’t as much available for it back then as there is today.
  17. look at the ends of the tank if they are soliderd in you can un solder them and have the inside cleaned and repaired Then re install the ends and solider them in . You have to take the tank out clean all the gas fumes out first.. I did that with my 1930 cj6 after I got the ends out I had it sand blasted then Brazed up the holes and bad spots I put the ends back in and soliderd them in and had it coated . and still looks good .there is some good coatings and some not so good .. My tank sat for 50 yrs and it was something like tar to get out. I use the old heavy soldering irons I a have a collection of them .

  19. You don’t want to use MAPP gas for brazing or soldering as it is not clean enough! This was told to me by the Rep from the welding supply company. mapp is used mostly for cutting and heating . The old heavy electric soldering Irons work well. Rince the tank out or I put them in the electrologist tank and that gets rid of the rust and other gunk then you can wire brush it up and soldier it and you should have a good repair. Check the spots where the bands go around the tank. I use a old camper fibreglass bath tub to to do some of my bigger items. Those plastic barrels works good also. When you are done with the repair I would put one of better sealer's in the tank . this will help keep rust out of the gas line.
  20. You can jack up 1 rear wheel and put the clutch peddle in the disengage area and take that wheel and rock it back and forth til it comes unstuck We have a 800 Ford tractor and that Clutch stuck so we wired the peddle down and left it for a while then then I put part of a drive shaft on the pto and put the pto to the in position and gave it a good tug and it came loose.
  21. The original carb will be hard to find. . I use a Zenith off a Allis Charmers tractor.
